If you put the top of the deck (with flap) in first... the deck completely vanishes. That is why the bottom of the deck is open. That should have been in the directions.
my dad and i debate the same thing..... for the disappearing deck i have, it is pretty hard to get it back in the opposite way and the top will get damaged really fast.. definitely the way he does it, it's moderately obvious he doesn't show every angle of that disappeared deck..... what about actually showing the top of the deck? does that give away the trick?
I used to have this trick. But,instead of putting the real card back in the "fake" deck after showing it, I would use it to cover the open side of case, put the fake" deck back in the case while the back of the real card is seen(using as a "magic" cover),then after slipping "card box" back in,I would then slowly pull back the card from the opening of case showing card box gone! I would then do same in reverse to show card case reappear, sort of like a mini stage magic box illusion! So,using the real single card like that, made the whole trick more mysterious for me to show!
just so you know moving by a trick faster and saying less in less time makes an audience wonder less, which is what you want in a trick like this. a tip, just take the card out and say normal, right normal normal over and over then quickly put it back and then do the vanish. you can see most magicians waste no time talking, just some misdirection.
Don't sweat it. It took me doing the trick a few times before I figured out which way to put the deck in the box so that it "completely" disappears and you don't have to protect that end/angle. IF you put it in the correct way, as others have pointed out, that end of the card box disappears. One other thing, pay attention to where you are getting this trick. IF you get it off of Amazon for example, they have many different sellers selling the same trick. There is one version however that I ended up buying by accident that doesn't use the standard "Bicycle" deck design on the single card OR the fake deck/case. It uses a DIFFERENT (NON Bicycle) red (at least mine was red) back design and the card box/tuck case had "Eddy's Magic" printed on it. Although, when I got the trick in the mail, the PICTURE on the packaging (again on mine) actually showed the red "Bicycle" design. Even though the product inside had "Eddy's Magic" printed on the card deck/tuck case and some other red design on the back of the deck and the back of the single card you get did NOT have the standard Bicycle "Rider" design. But also the Product Picture on Amazon DID SHOW the Eddy's Magic and the different back design IF you pay attention to it (I didn't). I just didn't pay close enough attention when I purchased it. I looked at all these other versions of the same exact trick and all the others had the Bicycle/Rider design so I guess maybe I just assumed the one I was buying did also. SO, just watch out for that if it's important to you to have the the standard "Bicycle" design. I think most people want to have the "Bicycle" design and wording on the deck and "Bicycle" back design as it's the most commonly recognized deck. I think when people see a deck that says, "Eddy's Magic" on it the automatically think something is "fishy" with that deck and might pay closer attention to it than if it just says Bicycle and has the regular commonly recognized "Bicycle" design. Also, when I got mine the black plastic case was all scratched up. It obviously was used and returned and then sold again as new. It didn't effect how the trick worked at all but when you buy a NEW product you expect that it will be in NEW condition and not all scratched up. Just some things to watch for.
I feel ya. I have the same one and felt the same way about it before but it really doesn't matter. I've never been asked about the case so far. Still getting great reactions with it😎
Maybe, if it's possible in this package, you could insert 2-3 real cards and *spread* them a bit out? I think it would bring in a much better effect. (sorry english is my 2nd language) regards from switzerland
Lay it face down, and put the card on top. Say, wouldn’t be cool if I made this card vanish? Waving your hand over it. Then say, I don’t do that, but.. and then flick the box top. And the flip it over
as per the trick, the disappearing deck is quite hard to get in the plastic sleeve in the opposite direction and it will damage the card and card pack paper very fast.... is it a bad trick if you do it a 3rd way? simply show the exposed top of the card deck?
also, to put it in the opposite way requires more sophisticated handling by the magician (for anyone remotely good it's trivial............ but for absolutely beginner i think it's much more straight-forward doing it the way the OP does.
Oh please do it normally :/ LOOOOL you need to put the deck in the other side! And after you can put your finger into the deck card to show us it's disappear :/
