This Leisure 470 Projector from vankyo is very portable with the included carry case. It has a maximum of 250" viewing size, 50,000 Hours of lamp life nad has 400 lux! It can play 1080p files but the native resolution is 720p. The built-in WiFi for airplay , mirrorcast etc is agreat edition to the two HDMI ports, one SD card slot, one USB port and one VGA port as well. No matter how you want to connect to this, you can! I love ❤️ it,Fire Stick 4K,PS4,PS2 All connected and works great 👍 also I used my powered computer speakers 🔊 for better sound..Pairing with Android or iOS is seamless,you just look for that little TV 📺 finds your device and off you go..Netflix,Prime Video,RU-vid,Music etc it all works...Too bad,they don't sell them anymore where I live...

It works fine with Android. Just hit the "OK" button on the remote to switch the screen from ios to Android input after you've selected screen mirroring as the input source. On your Android device, select "smart view" from your settings.

Thank you for the review. When using an iPhone, if I’m in a place without WiFi, can I use a lightning to usb cable to connect it? Or would I have to get lightning to hdmi? And I’m guessing the SD slot can simply use a card with an MP4? Thank you!

it creates its own wifi network , you dont need other wifi networks for this to work

Interesting that casting works well with iOS, it’s usually the other way around with equipment that isn’t officially supported by Apple! Will it cast sound alongside the video? I’m tempted but i need to know if I’d be able to connect my bose soundbar 300. It uses hdmi arc and optical only.

Just opened the unit plugged it in with the projector cord supplied... seemed that the cord is too short to allow any image to be brought into fucus... added an extn cord 3 foot and was able to focus...

My bulb will randomly turn off after 5-10 minutes,and then turn back on in 3-5 minutes if i leave it alone. There is no flashing red light, it's green the whole time and the filter is clean. Is there a setting to fix it? Is it an auto shutoff type thing?

If I connect my laptop to it and have bluetooth speakers hooked up to that, would it try to play sound through the projector still or would it play through my bluetooth speakers?

What kind of USB connection cord do I get. I went to BestBuy and bought one that the man suggested when I told him what I wanted to connect... the Vankyo 470 to my iMac desktop, but it is not the right one. Please help!

U need an hdmi cable.so either display port to hdmi, lightning port to hdmi or whatever your Mac has

@Industry Studies thanks, I did, none of them mention it. I was hoping to hear from someone who has actual experience with a modern budget projector to hear what their refresh rates generally are. display nerds like refresh rate talk, are these things all generally 60Hz? 30Hz? variable? simple things like the difference between 30 and 60 Hz should be obvious on playback of 60fps video, but i didn't find an answer yet.

1. Log into projector wifi. 2. Once connected, on your iPhone browse to 192.168.49.1 3. Enter your home wifi info when asked. 4. Reconnect to your home wifi. Wifi screening sharing should now work.

Ok nvm. I’m using an iPad. Got to the address on safari, hit WiFi AP, hit scan, chose my WiFi, type in the password and it seems like everything is connected and I can see my iPad screen on the projector. However, when I open HBOMax and play something, I can hear the sound through the projector but there is no picture and then it disconnects from the projector after less than a minute. I’ve tried shutting down the iPad and the projector and starting over with the same result. Any ideas?

I am having huge tech difficulties. The iOS mirror screen option the WiFi constantly says “no internet “ then the 192.... option I can’t even open it in safari browser.

My frustration with this projector is I plugged my external HD into the USB port and all I got was the Vankyo media screen. It wouldn't play any of my movies, what a bummer! Now I have to plug in my laptop and then the EXHD which is more of a hassle to try and get those 3 things set up in an area than just the projector and EXHD. Oh well 😔

I have heard that this might be a Netflix thing. Maybe one of their limitations to streaming.

I had some trouble with the screen mirroring. I have an apple phone and could see my screen being projected but when I tried to open Disney + I received an error. I could not see picture but could hear the sound. I tried connecting Netflix and it didn’t work. I even purchased a lightning/hdmi av adaptor but still couldn’t get anything up from my phone. Any tips from anyone would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏽

@@TheJabberTech hi yes that is the error I received. The HDCP message. I thought buying the hdmi adapter I could bypass it but not sure if I am using it correctly. I’m not tech smart at all lol. I’m going to try using these apps by connecting my laptop with the hdmi cable provided but I really wanted this projector for the wireless capability 😕

Same here. It seems to be a common issue. I followed the directions for cellular connection and WiFi .... when I go to screen mirroring it doesn’t pick up the projector to select it

@@TheJabberTech (Logical), but really not a nice reply. I watched the video and found the fan to be very noisy, but during movie playback, the fan noise became less intrusive. Still, the original question would be pointed to showing slides, or photos, and deserved a better reply. Another thing to remember, fan noise doesn't get any less the older the unit becomes.

Mine doesn’t work well at all with my iPhone to mirror wirelessly. Doesn’t work on Netflix or Amazon or Disney at all. Only RU-vid. What were you streaming it on? Definitely wasn’t an iPhone.

This projector gets the job done pretty well. ru-vid.comUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.

This thing doesn't allow you to watch netflix when either mirroring of usb mirroring. I can see the netflix HUD with the play and skip buttons. But the video doesn't display. Audio works though. 👎👎

It's called HDCP not the fault of the projector but of netflix. You can get an HDMI splitter that will act as a work around for this issue (if you get the right one)

Usb c dock with hdmi out or usb c to hdmi cable then to hdmi splitter then to projector 👍

No, my experience is that the remote is a piece of junk. The buttons on the projector itself, were they to function as is promised, would be sufficient. However, these functions do not work. At best I can insert a Flash Drive and call up Photos. But at this point even pressing OK, the projector will not open the flash drive so that I can project images. Why on earth is Wifi even necessary? I have an old projector made by PYLE and even that performs much better than the Vankyo Leisure 450 I think the model is. I am really frustrated and disappointed. The unit was cheap but not that cheap!! It should function.
