Hi man, a couple gear recommandations : the camping cot bed was a good idea, I think if you get one like the Grand Canyon Topaz (looks like your Coleman bed, but without the two annoying bars to add : super quick install (and no hitting your head/feet on them!) and say a thin folding matress (like a british army surplus folding cot mattress, that you can also sit on when folded) you get the best of everything : cheap, super quick to install, room to put things under, reliable (more than air mattress) etc. You can keep it folded in 2 during the day (without puttin everything in its bag) , resting on the side of your van, and unfold it in 10 seconds at night. I don't have a van yet, but it's what I would do. I have two of these beds, they are awesome. Also for sleeping bag, I can't recommend enough the Carinthia brand. It's made in Europe, extremely tough, the best zippers you will ever get. Get a Tropen for summer, a Defence 4 for 3 season, and combine the two for winter. Best sleeping system ever.
