When vehicles are broken in to the point of entry tends to be the front compartment/ main drivers cabin. Also most insulation in vans that are converted, tends to be in the living quarters, so they’re nice and snug in the back… whilst she is not in the insulated part of the house/van

Right now I’m watching this video as an option for our kids and us because we are about to be homeless and no one will hire us despite having a clean record and lots of previous work experience, great references and positive mindset/strong work ethic. Maybe don’t go around judging because you don’t even know if this was a choice or if they’re just making the best of what they’ve got. We were not broke when we decided to have kids, that’s why we had two, but life threw us a curveball and if this were to be our only option I would prefer it to the streets.

Please do not do this with your kids. The lack of their own space is definitely not fun for them and could even be damaging

Most people aren't doing this permanently with their kids. I really don't think that traveling around and showing your kids the world is damaging. Sure, if it's for their entire childhood, but I have never heard of anyone doing that. Most people do this for up to a few years at most. I have 2 little kids and they want to be with my husband and I 24/7. They don't want their own space yet, they just want to be with us. And they fact that they do want to be with us so much makes us a very close knit family, which many people can't say for themselves. We aren't traveling or living the van life but we live in a pretty small house and all sleep in 1 bedroom, so I can definitely see us being perfectly fine living the van life for at least a short period in our lives, especially while our kids are little.

@@Mrs.J.D.B yeah I agree, I see parents do this van life when their child is like 14. I think that’s where it comes bad. Parents should just do it when their child is attached to their parents, and stop when their child wants their own space.

Haha yeah, I could see how it might seem kinda nast, but we keep the area clean and dispose of our…bodily waste (#1 and #2) as soon as we’re done. Its never really left in there.

Please don't. This is not a stable situation for kids and they will grow to resent you. Kids need consistency. They need friends and to be at school. I know people who grew up and turned to drugs and alcohol because they constantly moved around when they were kids and it affected them for the rest of their lives. Always being the new kid can be damaging.

@@natalieh.2671 my husband grew up on a bus with his parents and two sisters and that was the best part of his childhood. I think it very much depends on how you raise them. You can bring consistency to on the road life. I lived in the same house till I was 18 and I went to several different schools due to moving from private to public, trying online school and back to public school. I love change. Always have but this never drove me to drink or do drugs. I’d definitely look at your friends parents and their style of parenting before looking at where they lived. There are kids in huts that live a more joy filled life because their parents teach them gratitude. My point being, where you lay your head at night isn’t the problem.

Maybe for you...but this is their family...🤷
