Just happy to see our music being broken down with so much love and care. I appreciate very much your understanding of rhythm, flow and sonics! Please continue to do more we love to see it 😍
Master Kong Nay is the old gentleman in the music video. That man is a legend. Kong Nay was born March 15, 1944 in Kampot, Cambodia. He is Cambodia’s most recognizable traditional musician. Kong Nay was blinded by smallpox at age four. He began his studies playing the Chapei Dong Weng at the age of thirteen. Chapei Dong Veng is Cambodia’s three stringed guitar and also music style where songs are improvised while playing the Chapei. He plays Chapey Dong Veng and sings (poems) without pre-writing.
The Khmer language is very difficult to copy, such as Khmer pronunciation and culture. Etc. .... The Khmer Empire is the greatest in history. Remember that Siam (Thailand) copied the Khmer script, the cultural area, the land and the Khmer people during the Angkor Wat war. Yoeun (Vietnam) stole the land. Laos was also part of the Khmer Empire. How did the Khmer Empire fall? Because of the corruption and greed of the Cambodian people. Khmer land now covers an area of 181,035 square kilometers.
You are the real reacter on this song if compare to others. You don't just play and listen. You pay attention to almost every single word and rhyme. Thank you!
This rapper is from Cambodia. This song/rap is about remembering our tradition as well as merging with new tradition. He’s trying to talk to all of us Khmer, especially the younger generation not to forget. It’s an amazing and positive message. I’m from Cambodia living abroad for many years and the lyrics reminded me to be a better Cambodian. My full respect for Vannda and his creative mind.
I really appreciate how he embraces his accent. It's the way he speaks it and not feeling the need for it to sound like American or English accents. Love it!!
Man that was a dope reaction bro. You really dug into the details of everything and we appreciate that. I'm with Baramey, the team behind VannDa and this video. I just wanted to add another level of intrigue to VannDa since you really understand all of the small things most people miss--VannDa also produced this beat. He's a producer/rapper/singer so I suppose the term "beat selection" wouldn't fit here as he truly is a force of nature unto him. He has a producing partner/engineer named Songha, and the Khmer instruments were played by one of our other artists named VanThan. You can see them make the early draft of this song in a short film from November 2020 by the same name "Time to Rise" on VannDa's RU-vid. Hope to see more reactioons from you man! Also curious to hear your beat you're cooking!
Wow, love how you pay attention to each detail and part of the song ! I literally have the same over-reaction at every listen 😂 this is so good, so proud of my country ❤️🇰🇭
Your reaction is very popular and interesting in Cambodian social media .We love and laugh so hard when you try to repeat our language. Thank for this reaction.Much love from Cambodia.
This song was combined between old school music with new school music. Vannda is a great artist in Cambodia and master kong nay is a legendary of Cha pey dong veng (the name of instrument) in Cambodia.
Dude, you dissected the F out of this song and I absolutely F ING loved it. Coming from a Cambodian American that loves music as well. Props bro. Subscribed and can't wait for more.
A song is still on display in the museum with a variety of sculptures that are more than a thousand years old, so you will enjoy watching and listening to this song. Thank you
16:47 KHMER is one of the ancient, magnificent and incredible language. Our language has lots of tone sound that other languages don’t have. Foreigners are difficult and rare to pronounce our language clearly and properly. But for Khmer People could pronounce and speak other language almost properly and perfect bcuz our language has own unique sound that is able to pronounce and speak other languages perfectly.
If you the one who love switch beat, Yes this is the right rapper you found (Vannda). Check out a lot of dope track switch beat like (Skull (if I die), born this way, J+O, You're already dead.......) You gonna love it. Or you can listen to it before you decide to react to it. Thanks. From now I am your fan.
