Shawn Rogers That makes sense. Something I missed. I ran the test in Jewelry mode as well (It didn’t make the video since it was getting too long) and got a reading on the necklace @ 1.5 inches, and the earring @ 1 inch. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
I'm quite surprised by these results, I have a simplex with 2.78 and also a vanquish with v12 coil. There's not a lot of difference, the Simplex is more positive on deeper targets in UK soil conditions (copper penny @ 12 inches for example), the TID is probably better with the Vanquish on deeper targets, not as keen on the tone breaks with the vanquish, copper coins give a very positive impossible to miss tone, mid-tones are less positive. I only detect inland so may be missing some of the Vanquish + points, both are amazing machines that I'd be happy to take out. Neither beat my Rutus Alter 71 though, looking forward to testing the Equinox at some point to see how that fairs.
I think your different experience with these two machines may have more to do with the difference in the soil you have there. The soil here in Virginia is extremely mineralized, and the multi frequency seems to make a big difference. Having said that, I also love both machines, and I take out the Simplex quite often. There are things about that machine I just love. I have the Equinox as well, and the nicest difference with that one is being able to change the tone breaks and a few other features. As far as depth and target acquisition, it is really not much better than the other two, if at all. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
I have a quick question. Back in the late 80s. I bought a Whites Pro Plus, and for a few years I've found many coins. 100s of 1800s. Since, I've concentrated basically on my home, but now I'm thinking about getting back into M.D. I'm heavily considering the 540. They're surely lighter, but today's machines must easily out perform the machines from the 80s and 90s, right?
The benefit of the Simplex is that after removing the coil, it will fit in a carry-on suitcase. Considering that the Simplex has in-built Li-Ion batteries, they are not allowed in hold baggage.
The simplex lower stem is bad but that's why they made a carbon fiber one but the build quality is excellent its rugged and not cheap at all I've used it in all conditions and it's held up to all elements got nothing bad to say about the simplex
The 540 is multi frequency the simplex isn't and it still hangs with a higher priced detector he won't tell you that the 540 is multi frequency and the simplex is single for the price difference the simplex is way better unless you want to hunt salt water then the 540 is better. This isn't a fair comparison because the 540 is top of the vanquish line the simplex is the beginner machine in the nakto line.. fake news... Run the simplex against the 440 or the 340 he won't because he probs getting it for free. Or maybe put the vanquish540 up next to the back to legend same price plz stop being fake
Can you sleep at night knowing that you made some one buy a more expensive machine than they needed... Hey bigginers go look at the simplex if you don't live by a beach... If you plan on beach hunting get the vanquish 440 he is pushing the 540 hundred dollars more if you don't plans on going to the beach the simplex is a far superior machine
I just hate that he died t know what he is talking about he is smart look up the price of the vanquish540 then look at the price of the simplex all his tests were very close LMAO the build quality is far better on the simplex and with the simplex you don't have to buy batteries. The vanquish you do don't listen to this shit he is trying to sell the top of the line vanquish against the bottom line simplex if you believe him I'm sorry unless you going to salt water the simplex is way better
You said the 540 only had the "wired head phones". But doesn't it have bluetooth for wireless headphones? That would mean that the simplex and the vanquish are equal in that department.
I was only referring to which type come with the original package. The Minelab wireless headphones would cost extra, so that would change the equation on overall cost. Cheers. Thanks for watching.
@@BigDogChannel Thanks for replying. I recently bought the 540, I get it this coming Friday. After whatching you review, I'm getting excited and it warms up soon. I saw a video that someone used a 540 over an area that was heavily worked with more expensive detectors. He was pulling buffalo's, wheats, a gold charm and some silver from 12" deep.
S MR You are right, most of the time you don’t need to ground balance the Simplex. Exceptions are all metal, on the beach, and on highly mineralized soil. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
I am hoping to do that. Trying to get my hands on one without buying it so I can test it. You should check out @Calabash Digger. He just did a few comparison videos on all three. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
No you don't, it sucks big time. Can't compete, not even close with Minelab. It's also more expensive than the Vanquish 540. Don't waste your money Don't take my word, listen to what others are saying. Vanquish outperforms it by far
I Have both also and like them both. The Vanquish is my got to mainly because the Simplex really struggles in the highly mineralized soil I have here in Virginia. In milder soil it does great. It’s the Multi Frequency that makes the difference on hot ground. I love the Simplex on the beach however. It does very well there, and its waterproof, so it might become my go to for beach detecting. All the best. Cheers.
He sucks he knows nothing comparing the 540 against the simplex not a fair comparison the vanquish 540 is 200 dollars more expensive it's multi frequency it's a beach detector.. the simplex is more for fresh water and land lol he is a sell out fake news. You can recharge the simplex he needs to do the 440 not the 540 he is lying to new people so if you live by the ocean and beach detect get the vanquish.. If you live by lakes and old land get the simplex. It's cheaper this guy is lying to you
Sorry you feel I’m not being fair here. If you watch more of the video, you will see the Simplex get some much higher scores. I just call them the way I see them. Your mileage may vary. I like the simplex a lot. In fact I was out using it today. Thanks for watching (as much as you did anyway) 😀 Cheers.
Only 1.5 points for simultaneous multi-frequency scanning... To me that's win or lose. I mean yeah a 1930 Model A (Simplex) will get you to the store, but it's way easier, faster, and more efficient in a 2022 Kona EV (Vanquish).
William R Agreed. I actually did the test in Jewelry mode, but due to how long the video was getting, it didn’t make it in. The Vanquish did much better in that mode and beat the Simplex by a small amount. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
Many people do prefer the Simplex. I think it will depend on where you hunt. I can say that I really like the Simplex. I still have it, and it does come out fairly regularly. What settings do you think I could have used to change the results I got? Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Nice i really like your test setups. Can't help but see that bulging Vein from your foot lol. Sorry not to be offencive just funny! But i am very happy i bought the minelab vanquish 540
I'm glad I didn't waste my time watching both parts of the biggest B.S. One sided comparison I have ever watched. If the simplex was better than the vanquish, it earned a whole half a point, but if the vanquish was better in a certain category, oh it gets 2 points.
@@BigDogChannel No worries mate, those are 2 of the detectors I am very interested in, and was glad to see someone was doing a head to head comparison. But, when you awarded half a point, and then the 2 point score, it didn't look like the comparison was going to be even/level, but more like a favorite's video instead. But, it was your opinion, so I probably should just shut up, and leave it be. So, cheers to you, & happy hunting! KC-Out!
