These ones are definitely pointy, seems to be lots of people love the pointy toe. I actually prefer a little less pointy, but these ones were still good / didn't bother me. I know NB# just launched 3 Wide versions of their top skate shoes which is pretty rad.
You can wear whatever shoes you want. All I'm saying is, "Have you seen what feet are supposed to look like?" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ap990027tOY.html
I know what you mean. When it it comes to Vans I only skated Vulcanized Shoes because pop-Cush was revolutionary for me. Second I started wearing/skating the Rowan 2s all my vulc shoes kill my feet.
Im on the Rowan 2s i was skating my fallen from a wile and i never really skated vans before i mean i had the Rowley 2s back in the day but they did not last Im really liking Rowans just getting use to a shoe that i can feel everything.
Tha fact that shred shop responded. Man they are the real ones from a 35 year old skater any community activity feels good there are allot of assy ass asses out there. Light tight and bright brother 😎
How much padding does the heel have by the Achilles tendon? I have messed up heels and can’t do shoes without padding there like the vans authentic or converse chuck Taylors. I want it, but I might have to wait for the non knit ones.
There's actually a lot of structure back in that zone, with the TPU plastic guard holding the heel. I don't think they'd be a problem for that. Only part that lack padding is the top of the foot (no tongue, so no padding there). But if it's something you have series problems with, maybe try a pair on at your local shop!
@@ShredzShop im a huge fan of the first model, I been skating only this model since 2019, I was super disappointed with the all knit version, mostly cause I really hit my feet with the deck very often and looking at that heel it doesn't seem better protection than the OG AVE's.
I miss early 90's-2000's skate bulky shoes like Vans TAG XLT, Rowley [XL3] , Dustin Dollin, Jim Greco, Tony Trujillo OG TNT, Willy Santos, Chad Muska, Bucky Lasek and Liam Neeson. I miss those times no social media were just skate all day and physically socialize to people.
Literally just bought a pair of wayvee’s from my local shop, thought they were the most technically advanced vans shoes available (I’m coming from exclusively slip ons), guess I was very wrong haha
Everyone at the shop skates a bunch! Levi is currently skating some AVE 2.0 to test, but was skating the Walker 2s and Emerica Figgy Dose a lot in the summer (but thin shoes with a sturdy cupsole). Jordan at the shop skates Rowan 2's & NB #600 (Tom Knox pro). I've been skating the new New Balance #440V2 & Vans Crocketts.
@@ShredzShop has anyone skated tiagos? I really like the 1010 goes good with my slip tapered jeans I wear. I want to try the 808 but I'm afraid they are gonna be to bulky and not work with slim jeans
I love the tech in there, but I don't super love how they seem pre-distressed aesthetically. I'm currently skating a Vans Lowland, even though they are decidedly not skate shoes and I've been skating a shoe-shaped pile of shoe goo really; a couple ollies deleted the toe stitching on day one. I've always liked the idea of Vans more than the reality because they just aren't durable, even the old pro-line. I used to love the Cab 5 back in the day when I wasn't skating DVS, but I really haven't landed on the shoe I feel good in since I got back into skating this past year.
The Cab 5 was a sick shoe! They have a pretty crazy 90's re-issue shoe dropping this summer that has a little bit of Cab 5 vibes. Also people seem to be liking the Rowley XLT's if you like puffy!
@@ShredzShop I like a shoe with a good puff, but my wife decidedly does not lol; I've had minimal luck convincing her these are "sporting equipment" because I just wear them all the time. The Rowley does look cool, but they don't seem to stock them locally to try them on, and I'm just so gun shy of spending that much on a Vans product hoping for the best with the backlog of them being made of paper I've experienced for decades. At least in the early 00s they were cheaper than the competition so you could sort of justify it.
Man the original ave’s are starting to be hard to get ahold of. Honestly I wish they would just continue making those I think they look a heck of a lot better anyway.
I think they’re still releasing the 1s and I think the next 2’s that come out that are suede will feel/ look a lot more normal if the knit isn’t your thing. 👊
Love Vans.. my shoe of choice 98% of the time in the 10 color/patterns I own… BUT this Ave 2.0 drop was a disappointment of a product. Going a half size up does zero justice to a better feeling shoe. Ruined the whole day..
Same. Tried them on. First thing I noticed. They crush your toes when your toes bend. hmm not sure these will break in over time. It's pretty painful. Probably returning.
Sadly lots of skate brands over price their shoes! Why would people spend over $100 for shoes they are going to tear up and skate! It’s ridiculous, I always wait for sales when they are like $30 to $60
I never had a problem with the old ones, but I know lots of people with a further back wear zone (heelflipers or people with a diff ollie zone) would shred the mesh right behind the suede.
