Vapor Days : 80s/90s Logos 

The RCA video discs logo actually helps to calm my nerves and to relax my mind... Anyone else agree?

My favorite:Mk VII LTD. I used to get my dad's claw hammer and chisel and try to make roman numerals in a piece of steel. It was not as easy as the logo made it look,lol!

The RCA Select-A-Vision Videodisc soothed me.

The BBC one sent shivers down my spine. I remember that one...I feel old now.

I was listening to the sound on the Mark VII Limited logo, and wondered: "Where did I hear that before" And then it hit me: That was the same sound Williams Street used for their logo. LOL

My god, this brings back so many memories of watching VCR tapes in the glory days of the early 80's.

The PBS one at 3:00 is my favorite. I actually remember that one from over 30 years ago. Classic.

When Chiller reruns old episodes of Tales from the darkside they still play that World Vision one afterward

Yeah, some of these are pretty jarring. Powerful! Scary! Corporate Logos, Attack! You are on an alien-ship, you are being held against your will and you are being mutated, mwa-ha-ha!

That BND Logo, it was the basis for the logo for Daimando's channel, years ago.

I remember the first time I saw that THX logo. I had the TV volume really loud and scared the shit out of me. 5:44 WHY WOULD ANYONE PUT THAT ON A LOGO?!

A lot of these logos remind me of the future that I figured would come about sooner or later in my childish mind in the '80s. I always pictured buttons everywhere and lasers and all that. Especially the Genesis logo. Screen Gems never scared me. Viacom does a little, but it also brings back memories. What were the RKO guys thinking?! Too many coke parties in the '80s. Knowing the histories behind Bryanston and BИD make them that much scarier.

I want the audio for the WGBH one as a ringtone to be completely honest. It sounds so awesome! I don't find it anywhere near scary.

Wish they kept the old BBC logo that appeared at the end of stuff that was broadcast in the USA. Mark VII was pretty simple, but impressive. I wish they'd bring the old PBS. Screen Gems is always a good one. WGBH - always meant something *great* was about to come on.

Mark VII Limited was Jack Webb's (Dragnet) production company, and those were his own hands holding the hammer and die. He eventually sold his company to Universal.

Every time you see the Bryanston Pictures logo ... the Columbo crime family tracks it. Now -- they're coming for you ... and all rats DIE!!!!! Sounds like a good idea for a horror movie. :-) A cheesy one.

Of all the logos I detest so much, it's that Mark VII Limited logo. Adam 12 and Emergency, yup, but looking at that you think he'll brake that TV screen of yours. Someone should put an Adam 20 ( no friggin' kidding ) on that logo, or better yet Emergency Level 11 on that logo.....bleech.

In my opinion, old TV logos were way too ominous and scary. They made you feel like something scary was going to happen soon. And then left you with a void of silence for about 3 minutes.

I saw some men doing some roadwork the other day and thought of the Mark VII logo.
