In this video, I take my friend Laura and my sister Hailey to the Virginia Renaissance Fair for a fun day of styling and exploring. I start by helping Laura put together an outfit using various accessories from my Renaissance fair collection. Despite the rainy weather, we manage to create a cohesive look that she loves.
Next, we meet up with Hailey, who has a base outfit ready but needs some finishing touches to achieve a pirate-themed look. We head into the fair to shop for additional accessories, focusing on leather goods and some edgy pieces. We visit Trinket's Costume and Sundry, a budget-friendly vendor that offers a variety of second-hand garb. Hailey finds a leather belt and a skull accessory that perfectly complement her outfit.

Hey, it's me, Hannah, and Laura, and Hailey.
Today we are going to the Virginia Renaissance Fair, and I am here with my good friend Laura, and we are going to be meeting my sister Hailey and my mom, and a few other friends at the fair. For this video, I thought it would be fun to get Laura over here and style her up for the ren fair. And then later on in the video, when we meet up with Hailey, we will take her into the Renaissance fair and style her there. So, come along with us as we figure out how you want to look and how we can achieve it.
So, I'm going to kick us off by having you kind of describe what kind of look you might want to go for. You've been to the Renaissance fair a few times, so you have some ideas put together.
Yes. I am thinking Druid human.
Okay. Okay. I love that. Going off of like a D&D type of character, like a video game type of character is a really good place to start. So when I think Druid, I am obviously thinking earth tones, leather, greens, browns, braids. You already have a couple braids in, so that was a good way to start.
Well, great. I pulled aside a bunch of my, like, typical Ren Faire gear. I have a few extra details and accessories in my trunk here. So let's shop my closet.
Let's talk about the base layer. Are you thinking pants, skirt, dress, billowy shirts? You want a skirt? Okay. I have a couple different skirt options. I know I've got a white skirt, tan ones, pinks. It is raining today. It is raining today. And that's going to be a huge factor in this as well. It's in the 50s and 60s today. Honestly, not the ideal conditions for the Renaissance fair, but we've done this before. In fact, I think one of my last Renaissance Fair videos was rainy and cold. So we've proven that we can have fun on a rainy day.
This is a really good base layer. You could definitely get away with layering stuff on top, doing some skirt hikes to get a little dimension. I do like that skirt as a base layer.

Great. That's good because oh, those will look so good together. I would probably layer this on top of this, even though this does have a little bit more volume, so I don't know, you could go either way.
We might try both sides. Let's try.
Okay. So I like this. I would probably try to make sure that this seam here is hitting this like, empire waist seam up top or goes above it, even.
My ribs.
Yeah. And it is a really good opportunity to, like, get that snatched look that we're going for there.

So before we tie you up in this, what do you think about, like, the colors in it and things like that?
Yes, this is it. Let's tie her up.
Are you? Really think these colors work actually. I know we said green and brown, and here we are with mauve strawberries and that's okay. There's still some green. There's some green, there's some brown too.
There are options. Do you want to leave the ribbon hanging out? I can always tuck it in a little bit.
I think it's kind of precious.

Okay, great. I think right off the bat we probably wanna do a belt. And I actually, I mean, yeah, we have the green one is a great option, especially with the green ribbon. Anything else in there appealing to you from a Druid standpoint or just appealing to me? I could see how that might just be appealing, but not today.
Well, this will go on the belt. Yes. Okay, great. I totally forgot we had the green.
Oh, look at this. Oh, we have so many Druid accessories in there. I'm going to take these. Everything green, I think.
