This song is from a Swedish childrens/family movie adaptation of a much loved children book written by Astrid Lindgren. The original is sung by the actress playing the main character's mother. It is a lullaby. For me the original has more feeling. The actress who sings it sounds more like a mother singing to her child and less like a singer trying to sing as beautiful as possible.
Jonna Jinton is fantastic! ...And such an Ambassador for the Northern parts of Sweden and the Nordics! If you havent seen it allready. Go watch/react? to her video called... "Living in the North of Sweden -Midnight Sun and Polar Nights" You won´t regret it ;-)
This is the original song: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EzHetqFABw4.html Comes from the Swedish movie Ronja Rövardotter (In english "Ronia, the Robber's Daughter") (1984).
Not that old song, but my daugthter sings it to her children. They live in the hinterland of sweden. Good reaction, as usual. Take care u2. Greetings from Gothenburg Sweden.
I recognized her, think her name is Jonna and she is a professional filmartist and singer and lives way up north in Sweden where its real dark in winter like 23 hours a day a month polar nights, but in summer its midnight sun and light all day. She did a cool movie about that, look for it, its really cool-
Yeah looked it up for you her name is Jonna Jinton and her movie is LIVING WITH THE DARK WINTERS its a really beutiful short movie with shots from the winter and summer in Tommy land. Its here on YT.
Well, she really doesn't live that far North - geographically she lives just North of Central Sweden. She is however a very good ambassador for Sweden's Northern parts. I grew up in a town located some 600 kilometres (370 miles) North of her place - and there's still some distance to go before one reaches the end of Sweden.
The subtitles were a bit off but love it. You gotta check out some more of her videos, her biggest one is Living with the dark winters in Sweden. High def haha, yeah that's been a normal thing for like 15 years on RU-vid. 4K is above that and not as common.
This song is childhood to me. Its from Astrid Lindgren Ronja, one of my favorite Astrid Lindgren movies growing up. From books originally and we dont have many wolfs in sweden goverment loves to license hunting on them.
This song is also a part of the Ronia the Robber's Daughter, the Musical, at least in the Danish Version, , The Book is by famous Swedish Kids Author, Astrid Lindgren.
I live bit further north from her (200km) and we have bear, Wolf, Lynx... roaming freely here, bears are fairly common, wolves are more rare but certainly around so kids scared of Wolves is a good thing, better they know that they are dangerous hhan them thinking them a nice dog to play with. heh, tangent comming, I was out in the woods mid september (2023) and I was lookkng forva specific point onmymap so was looking in map and all around, next step was right in a pile with bear feces full of remainsbof berries and definitely not pleasant smells.
wolf howls in the forest at night He cannot sleep, though he wants to Hunger tears apart his wolf-venter And it's cold in his house Oh, wolf, oh, wolf, don't come here You will never have my child Oh, wolf, oh, wolf, don't come here You will never have my child A wolf howls in the forest at night He howls for the hunger and laments But I will give him the tale of a pig Such things are good for a wolf's belly Oh, wolf, oh, wolf, don't come here You will never have my child Oh, wolf, oh, wolf, don't come here You will never have my child A wolf howls in the forest at night He cannot sleep, though he wants to Hunger tears apart his wolf-venter And it's cold in his house Oh, wolf, oh, wolf, don't come here You will never have my child Oh, wolf, oh, wolf, don't come here You will never have my child ❤
The way you pronounce "Suesue" makes me think you should google "Sisu". It's a deep component of the Finnish national spirit. I'm not Finnish but it's a word that's well known among anyone from the Nordics.
Dear you twa. Check oot the "the song for Sweden" unofficilal anthem by the Swedish armed forces by Jonna Jinton. Mr Putin are coming. We are locked and loaded. Thanx för your fine reaction. Sh3 is an elfish Fey person. Take care! Greatings from Jonas Gothenburg 😂. ❤
That's Jonna Jinton, if I'm not mistaken. I like her videos more than her music, not that she's bad, it's just not to my taste. The translation was a bit so-so, eg "unge" would be "Kid", not "Child". It's from the 80ies, so not traditional at all, albeit in a traditional style. For a more traditional song, much in the same style, check out "kristallen den fina"
the original movie version is ten times better, less polished and more raw like it's supposed to be. Jonna's cover is beautiful but i prefer the original raspy voice of the actress singing this song in the movie.
