Wow! I have a regular Euphorbia and it does indeed like bright light! I learned by accident putting it outside in the sun last summer! I was amazed how it shot up compared to another I had in the house! I brought it in when fall arrived and it is doing great inside where it started! I treat it like you do, like a Cactus! I wish I could find the varigated here in the States!

Just come across this after buying a Rubra. I chopped it because it wasn’t branching. I let the chunks callous over for a few days then put the pieces in a prop box with Perlite. I sprayed around them about twice during the summer and I’m delighted to now have 5 gorgeous Rubras which are all branching beautifully💕

What a lovely size one you've got, and beautiful colouring. I got myself one a few months ago, more white in appearance than yours, doesn't have any branches yet and around 60cm. Got it in a West facing window, no direct sun comes on it in winter but got a growlight on it. Look forward to it's growth and maybe even a branch!

Mine gets leaves intermittently, no side branches yet. The similar green euphorbia Ingens (cowboy cactus) is aslo a great plant, mine is getting side branches coming out. Lots of sun outside in Australia.

This is a wish list plant for me. Claire, I use your Euphorbia as a bench-mark for variegation. I haven't purchased one yet, as I would like one that is colorful and solid as yours. You ruined me!

Thanks, you have a happy plant. I have a few euphorbias at home in Australia. My Variegated Euphorbia Ammak has leaves, as does my green Euphorbia Ingens, The Ingens is getting small side branches coming out in several spots. They are such cool plants. At Sydney Botanical Gardens next to the city there are Euphorbia Ammak in the ground, they are as tall as a house.

Thanks for the care guide. I just purchased a candelabra euphorbia. Bit of a rescue, as it seems a bit battered and neglected. Do you cover the top soil with pebbles etc? Also would this plant send out new growth from the base like calatheas produce rhizomes?

My variegated Euphorbia is about the same size as that arm on screen, lol. I can't wait for it to grow that big. Mine is sitting in my west facing kitchen windowsill and growing more now the temperatures have dropped. It is tolerating night time temperatures of 13 degrees C and can handle down to 10 degrees C, any lower than this I move it back from the windowsill a couple of feet. One thing that should be noted is that when propagating wear gloves as the sap is toxic, as it is on all Euphorbias, and will aggravate your skin. And yes those spines are lethal, I can certainly attest to that one.

Hello there! I’m curious how you encourage growth on the arms/branches? I have a euphorbia whose main stem has grown very tall and continues to grow, but the branches don’t seem to be growing. Any tips?

Hello again. So just watched and am wondering how similar the care requirements are for the plain one? I've put mine just inside my east facing window.about a foot away. Is this ok? I'd love mine to eventually grow as big as yours. Mines a baby in a 6 inch pot atm.

I have a standard euphorbia ingens which seems to be very happy, outside in a huge terracotta pot, lots of direct sunlight. It’s currently sprouted leaves on top and is going through a massive growth spurt. It’s kind of skinny though, and has 2 arms, but I’d like more. It’s 70cm tall. Is it likely to get “beefier” on its own as it gets older, and sprout more arms?

I fell in love with yours and it’s on my wishlist. Then I found it. Just a mile away at my local nursery. Gorgeous just like yours maybe a bit shorter. $108. My husband wouldn’t approve of that price for another plant! Excuses urgently needed…. I can’t stop thinking about her alone up there at night without me. So close and so far away!

Enjoying the content of this channel...Does anyone have experience in growing bonsi banana plants? I picked one up a year ago and I can't seem to find info on this plant. It's an interesting house plant because it has the banana look but only grows to a height of about 40 cms (1,3 feet). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How long does it take for a uforbia to root i am getting ready to propergate 5 of my 15 just curious
@Pawpawtrees
@Pawpawtrees 5 дней назад
I just got a white euphoria in. And the roots seem to be at the very bottom and soil seems to be piled around the trunk of it. 2 or 3 inches. Is this how they grow? Or do I need to repote it and put the roots at the top of the pot? And it also seems like it would be very wobbly. And I would need to support it.

Hi! I have my first Euphorbia and read I have to give it a dormancy period over the Winter. I grow it in my kitchen on a table under a South facing window and use a grow light as well. Do I just cut back watering in Winter? Thanks for your help.
@TheJungleHaven
@TheJungleHaven Год назад
It's perfectly possible to keep it growing over the winter months so long as you're able to provide it with the right conditions. It'll likely require less water over the winter, but always check the soil instead of scheduling your watering 💚

I grow euphorbia plants outside in full sun. I have to take them inside winter time. The only time burning can happen is when you take them outside in the spring. Once they get used to full sun they are fine. I like when they get sun stressed.

Beautiful plant. I wish Santa would bring one but…….. I have two Q’s for you Claire. 1. Will I still get fungus gnats and thrips if ALL my plants are in Leca and, 2. Should I spray succulents for pest control ( got a couple in soil which will be transferred to Leca over the next few days) Thank you for your very helpful videos. You are my go-to advisor for all planty stuff😊
@TheJungleHaven
@TheJungleHaven Год назад
Fungus gnats are far less likely if you're using semi-hydro. I'd also only treat plants if you actually need to, in terms of pest prevention I just regularly check them/dust them and make sure there's nothing nasty lurking 💚

This was a very informative video. I have a ghost euphorbia and a tiny piece that was sprouting at base start to rot. I attempted to propogate by taking off rot part and stuck in soil. I did wet soil and I think this was mistake because it kept rotting. When soil propogating do you water in right away or just let that chunk sit in dry soil ?
@TheJungleHaven
@TheJungleHaven Год назад
I always let it callous over first, otherwise it's more likely to rot, but then I do water the soil when I pot it. Sometimes you have to chop it back way further than you might think as the rot can go all the way up inside 💚
@deegrows7589
@deegrows7589 Год назад
