Variety commercialization for scaling seed delivery to low income famers 

The Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture has developed strong practical know-how to date on portfolio management and seed company capacity building to continually improve the Seeds2B approach to commercializing varieties. The Foundation has advanced and supported the commercialization of varieties with more than half a dozen seed companies: sorghum, vegetables, potatoes, maize and soybean in West Africa, and soybean, bean and potato in East Africa. The Foundation works with selected CGIAR centres (ICRISAT, CIAT and IITA) and NARS on testing the approach further and adapting this commercial best practice to smallholder context.
