In this video I review the fruit qualities of the Tennosui Pear. Tennosui is a pollen offspring of Hosoui and has very similar fruit qualities to Hosoui. However, Tennosui has a lot more fireblight resistance which it inherits from its seed parent, Tennessee.
What I forgot to mention in the video is that Tennosui is later blooming than most European pears and earlier blooming than most Asian Pears. It barely overlaps with LeConte and Tennessee at the beginning of its bloom and with Korean Giant at the end of its bloom. The pear strains it overlaps best with in my yard are Savannah which isn't commercially available. And an unknown variety mislabeled Orient. Consequently I don't know what to recommend by way of a pollinizer, and to my knowledge it hasn't been tested for being self-fertile yet.
