If you have only 3 days to explore Kerala, you may not be able to cover everything this beautiful state has to offer, but you can definitely get a taste of its beauty and culture. Here's a suggested 3-day itinerary: Day 1: Arrive in Kochi (also known as Cochin), the commercial capital of Kerala. You can either fly or take a train to get here. Visit the famous Fort Kochi, a historic district with colonial-style buildings, Chinese fishing nets, and art galleries. You can also visit St. Francis Church, the oldest European church in India, and the Mattancherry Palace, which has beautiful murals depicting Hindu mythology. Watch a traditional Kathakali dance performance in the evening. Day 2: Head to Munnar, a hill station located in the Western Ghats. It's about a 4-hour drive from Kochi, but the scenic views along the way are worth it. Visit the tea plantations and learn about tea processing at a tea factory. You can also take a short hike to some of the beautiful waterfalls in the area. Day 3: Start the day early and take a backwater tour of Alleppey, also known as Alappuzha. This is a beautiful network of lagoons and canals that flow into the Arabian Sea. You can take a traditional houseboat or a smaller canoe to explore the backwaters. After the backwater tour, head to the beautiful Kovalam Beach, about a 3-hour drive from Alleppey. This is a popular beach destination and has beautiful sunset views. In the evening, relax and enjoy the beachside restaurants and cafes. Of course, this is just a suggested itinerary and you can customize it based on your preferences and interests. Kerala has a lot to offer, and you can easily spend more time exploring this beautiful state.
