Update: Varla has just released a red, hydraulic brake version of the Eagle One Pro. It seems like this was their intention from the beginning, but I wasn't made aware of it.
The Varla website currently shows hydraulic and mechanical brake options. The cable routing of the back brake in the video looks like a guaranteed point of failure since the cable will most likely rub as it exits the sleeve at the fixing point.
The front vibration is the same thing I experienced on the Vsett10+. I changed to air shocks with rebound control in both directions and haven’t had an issue since changing.
@@RK9Rides came across a video about this issue and he said it is actually not the shocks but the bolt that holds them in place is probably bent. Maybe something to look at before getting into replacement shocks. His explanation was basically that the bolt after it gets slightly bent the small gap let’s the shock move without the springs pushing back to counter it allowing the vibration to develop and then the spring increases it when trying to counter it. … hopefully that made scenes ✌️💕
I was hoping for larger motors. Mechanical brakes would be a deal breaker if I was in the market. E1 was a pretty good launch for Varla. Hopefully they upgrade as you suggested. Thanks for your honesty in reviewing.
Just received an email from Varla about this scooter's release and availability, and it looks like since this video dropped they have reduced the price by 200 dollars and are offering hydraulic brake options now in different colors. I guess they are paying attention.
Had mine first release Eagle one Pro for a month now. Shipping package was bad. Everyone is getting damaged rear fender brakets. My charging port was all bent. Mechanical Brakes are awful and are no where nearly as good as my Eagle one. I asked Varla If I could buy their Zoom upgraded hydraulic once and they keep saying that mechanical brakes are just as good. My Nfc card reader and display failed and won't recognize the key. I can't even get my scooter to turn on now. Occasionally I get it to work, but it's been almost a month and Varla still hasn't shipped my new display. My throttle controller is very Jerky making it impossible to ride this scooter smoothly at steady speed. Steering is very noisey and Varla keeps emailing me to tighten it down more, but after a few minutes of riding noise comes back. I feel that a $2000 scooter should be way more refined and not have any of these issues. It never worked right out of the box from me. I sent them dozens of emails and none of my issues have gotten resolved. I would get the Eagle one instead or possibly look at other options. Was waiting for them to fix it or replace it before saying anything bad, but at this point I feel that I gave them enough time and opportunity to make it right. I feel that people should know that this product isn't as good as advertised.
Good overview/unboxing.... I saw all your eagle one videos and that was always on my radar when shopping for my first scooter. Hating the color red,I do prefer the blue better for sure and would rather see it come with either offroad or hybrid tires instead of the 11" onroad tires. Throttle looks sweet, and few other features do as well... But honestly, for the price I'll stick to my Nanrobot D4 3.0 in blue! At $1700 it's way less money, built like a tank, I get the following speeds with dual/turbo... Speed 1 - 23mph Speed 2 - 33mph Speed 3 - 43mph This is with new on-road tires installed, and a cracked hub so it's Def a beast. I'm able to get about 30 miles of hard riding, and we'll over 40 cruising,oh and the brand new machined metal hydraulic brakes it comes with are buttery smooth and can slow down from 40,with just 1 finger and come to a stop fast. Sorry to change subjects but when I see people paying over $2,000 for a scooter, and it doesn't have atleast hydraulic brakes it's red flags for me! Makes me very happy to own the 3.0 and saved 500 bucks :)
I am now happy they are out of stock when I try to order, hopefully with such a great review they are doing some improvement to the second batch, I honestly don't mind mechanical brakes, it's low maintenance do for me and I don't need to ride over 30mph, I am not interested in that card to start the scooter also, can u imagine losing it on the road, I will surely buy this scooter as it's a Pegasus upgrade in my book, and I love my Pegasus
The brakes are a fail and on a serious component at that. Another item not mentioned is the battery pack used in these is of the chinesium / generic variety and not LG/Samsung/Panasonic…. Results and longevity will vary
Varla can do better, but they need to realize that the faster you go the stability and braking you need. Because it is a new scooter it will turn heads, I always have people asking questions about scooters where I live. I do think that is Varla gave the Pro air suspension with rebound controls it would most likely fix the front of this scooter. I would say hydraulic suspension, but let's face it, that's a pricey option. Also have you noticed that the front tire is installed backwards or is it just me? But overall they are taking steps to give their customers more options for commuting. Nice video ☺️☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍👍👍
@@RK9Rides I also got the impression of the tires being installed backwards but without looking closely at the markings on the tire, this is just the impression and nothing more. But the front brake rotor is definitely installed backwards, as seen in 1:16 :/
I fractured my wrist 5 miles into riding the vsett 10plus🤣🤣..I came from a wolf king and was used to the dual stem. The single stem is a whole another animal. You need to change out the shocks their terrible and too bouncy and will eject you off the scooter with a little bump. Be careful ride safe and gear up brody. Have fun she's a blast.....
hi, I just got into watching you, but I've notice in almost if not all your vids with Qiewa Q-Power 2 have [I can no longer recommend Qiewa as a reputable brand] I can't for the life of me find why you say so I was asking if I can get answer or some context, please and thank you.
I did 29 miles on mine yesterday. Didn't reach low voltage but was only able to 35mph near that point. I also felt that wierd wobbles at higher speeds. I ended up leaning back to over come it but need more ride time to actually see if that helps completely.
I have a question Are you still using it and does it still work, I was thinking about getting one but I don't want to get one that going to break down within a month or so
Hey bro I was just wondering if you or anybody could help me out. Varla sent me 2 NFC cards, but only one of the cards will unlock my scooter. Does anybody know if i can re-program the 2nd one myself? or do i have to get them to replace it?
I'm testing and reviewing this scooter, and it has the same shaking at high speeds. I really hate the ride feel of the scooter. I think the shaking is due to the negative trail, cheap tire, and coil suspension.
I have both an eagle one and a Pegasus. Honestly, this doesnt seem like enough of an upgrade for me. Especially since it has lower quality breaks. If it had a well. Mounted headlamp, even better range, or even better speed it might be worth it. The tubeless tires are nice, but not worth the extra money above the eagle one. Fast charging is also nice and having more portable charger would be a plus. Security features like a loop to put a lock through would also be nice. Tldr. The eagle one OG lookz more pro than the eagle one pro right now.
do you notice that when the dual motor is engaged it is very jerky and the speed is constantly going up and down? I have emailed Varla about this. Is this normal? My first electric scooter, so it feels strange. Very jerky.
Hey, I recently got into electric scooting and I'm looking to get my first proper scooter, I've been looking at the Nanrobot D6+ and was wondering if you would ever review some of the scooters from Nanrobot (D4/D6/LS7) , I've so far heard good things but would love a review from you. Keep up the great work on the videos.
@@Patkilla7558 that said you can dial the torque down,I leave mine on 3 (fast start) and it still gets up and goes fast but on 5 it's insane... On my D4 3.0 with fast start on 5 it roast the street tires I have on it, lunches you hard and fast and even after 2 months of experience it's still not enough for me to be completely comfortable on 5,gunning it In corners spins tires a bit but it wi even spin tires by gunning it at 10mph lol
I have been trying to get one for year and because my wife is sick and has neutropenia form of cancer of the blood and bone marrow…i have not been able to get one. Cancer runs in my wife’s family and many have died. So when she is too sick to drive we cannot go anywhere since i cannot drive right now. So i depend on the bus and walking to work and shopping. It’s been tough for us. But one day i will get one.
the accelerator and better tires are the best upgrades from the eagle one... i plan to go to a bike shop maybe to have them switch me out for tubeless tires on my eagle one.
Great video! Varla has really made a good name for itself since the Eagle One. I'm still having a hard time deciding between the Varla Pegasus or Nanrobot Lightning as my first electric scooter.
I own a Lightning and I think it's a good choice since it has more motor power and a better quality battery than the Pegasus. The only thing I didn't like was when I rolled over my first larger sized pothole with it which didn't feel very good.
@@chrisb.1214 The only thing I wish the Lightning had is an e-bike display like the Pegasus instead of that generic TN-01 (whatever it's called) controller you see everywhere.
@@VeeTHis Order from RoadRunner Scooters if you live in America, they treat customers really well. Yeah, the display on the Pegasus is definitely cooler. The display is not a dealbreaker for me with the Lightning, but I understand.
@@chrisb.1214 It seems that the Lightning 2.0 has finally reached US distributors and it has the same LCD screen as the Pegasus now. Definitely gonna get the Lightning instead of the Pegasus
reference 2:06. the stem alignment to front wheel center bolt of off .. it's ligne up behind the front wheel shaft .. this is a design flaw . not ideal for stability .
Hello, just ordered the eagle one pro…I wanted to order some off road tires for it. Do you have any suggestions for a good off road/street tire? Thanks
Appreciate your reviews. Had the Pegasus. Sold it. I feel like the E1 pro is largely overpriced for what your getting, including the customer service which is exceptionally bad. I went with a Blade 10 that has a 60A system with sine wave controllers and 1200W motors. Gets about 27 miles on range and top speed was 48mph. Here’s the kicker….it was $700. Cheaper then the Varla E1 pro. Hence the overpriced moniker. RK9- I’m in Utah too if you want to try it.
Hey man, anyway you can give us a video for 2022 on Amazon scooters. I’m trying to find a fast Amazon scooter and don’t know if you have any recommendations
Varla is NOT designing these scooter models. I can literally set up a company and order a generic brand of scooter and have the manufacturer apply my logo to the boxes and the scooter for a minimal fee. Varla has no control over the production of these bulk buy scooters, That's why the Eagle One was a clone. I have the Eagle One and have put 2000 miles on it since Aug, it has definitely been worth the price tag but it is in no way a very well-crafted scooter. The fact that we have never seen a face representing Varla is a bit off-putting as well, customer service communicates in a way that suggests the company is located somewhere overseas and has a shipping and business address in California. I have literally seen this scooter and the Pegasus model on manufacturers' pages on Ali Baba. I am interested in starting a scooter business and that particular model caught my eye several months back. There are only a few reputable builders currently, Kaabo, Dualtron, and Rion, Appollo started out doing the same type of drop shipping lower grade scooters with their branding on them but now they seem to be actively involved with the development of the tech side of the builds I think they still get all of the frames from a bulk manufacturer though. I am loving what is going on in the space with Micro mobility and personal EVs but I don't think I will be purchasing anything else from Varla as their customer service with my Eagle One purchase was a bit jarring and the quality of their builds are not my favorite. I ran into someone on the Wolf GT Pro yesterday and I have made my decision on where my money will be spent. Looking forward to seeing a deep dive on this scooter and a breakdown of whats causing the wobble if you manage to figure it out. Varla has already dropped a 200 dollar discount on the thing and are now offering hydraulic braking options as well. Funny how that happened a day or so after you dropped this vid. Keep up the good work. I buy a lot of the gear you use and suggest.
NFC unlock is a nice thing to have if you wanna, but if you can't turn it off, it can be a pain. like the "slidefox" ... i don't know if it is known internationally, might be an "only Germany" scooter. the Slidefox requires an NFC card to unlock, and it can't be disabled. important question is: can you only use the Varla tags, or van you also teach it other NFC tags? like the VSETT scooters, in the P-Settings ,out can teach them to accept your smartphone or bank card to unlock (or any generic RFID Tag, really) for the throttle ... there is a thumb throttle in this style for the Kaabo Mantis too, maybe i will try it one day. but i don't imagine it to be comfortable
just have a good look from above your stem down the pipe, and draw a virtual line down with your eyes, is that line intersecting the front wheel axel ? is it behind or infront of the axel ? at high speeds this is very important as it will behave very different, also suspensions can move that line back and forth quickly on a bumpy road...tires pressure must be high if you want a fast ride... also the length of the stem is important, a medium one can be good and a too short or too long one can get you out of equilibrium , man, a lot to consider and they only care for the aspect of the scooter instead hiring engineers from bike companies to design it correctly
This doesn't seem that much different than the Varla at all really, I wouldn't buy it over the Varla. The original goes up to 40 Miles Per hour and this goes 43?? Naww
Honestly at that price just get a wolf warrior or better yet a wolf king yeah I admit for 3 grand some things are a little cheap like the zoom hydraulic brakes but the scooter rips at 59 mph and gets there fast af skids the tires when your going 20 mph and the suspension is goood actually dual motorcycle grade stem considering you liked that one kabbo so much you’d adore the king if I ever am out in Orem all let you ride it my best scooter is honestly my little hi boy titan damn thing seems so cheap but 700 mile not one little hiccup where my 3000 dollar wolf king already has had brake issues but for those that want to not pay that much get the kabbo wolf warrior is 2000 and is in some peoples opinion the best electric scooter ever made voromoter or fluid ride id go with voro for parts fluid for getting the actual scooters
🐍 The motor, controller, battery specs puts it into Mantis Class scooter then add 11 inch tires makes it Mantis +, but the stem angle screws up the top speed safety and is gonna kill inexperienced riders. Varla is still just a money grabbing clone manufacturer slapping popular scooter specs together without any engineering or support department. Their base Eagle is a Zero 10X clone. 🖖🤙
They aren't even a manufacturer. They are a drop shipper. The Chinese manufacturer will even add your logo design to the boxes and manuals for a small price. Notice how the clones all have branding that is either grip tape or single color writing on the outside of a cheap cardboard box. These aren't scooter building companies they are guys with an LLC and a shipping address ordering 10-20 scooters at a time getting the customer to "pre-order" and wait a month and a half for their item because they have to get the money together to place the orders before they take delivery. I figured it out during my Eagle One purchase and research of other brands. VSett, Zero and Varla are all drop shippers, the Manufacturer does everything in China, someone picks them up when they arrive and ships them from a small storage space somewhere in California they are literally ordering from Alibaba that's why there is no carryover or real consistency in their design across the 3 offerings. When you buy a Dualtron or a Kaabo you see the similarities in the design. Not with the clone companies though. Gonna bite the bullet and get a Wolf GT Pro in the coming months and sell the Eagle One or keep it for shits and giggles but I won't buy anything else from Varla, they are about the money and not the scooter design and commiunity.
Try calling them!!! You will not get them on the phone even to buy one??? Do not trust a company that does not communicate with their customer. My first instinct is that Varla is shady.😳
No hydraulic brakes is a joke at this price point! I hope they have really good lawyers because this scooter is a literal death trap. Varla what the fuck are you thinking? I gurenteed they aren't using LG or samsung 21700 cells so voltage drop probably tanks performance. I have the original Eagle one with hydraulic brakes and I couldnt imagine not having them because of all the times I had to make a quick stop.
