I love the promotion of believers seeking mental health services to heal! As a licensed therapist (LICSW) and survivor of childhood trauma, we need to HEAL!

What stuck out the most is it doesn’t matter how old you are it’s still ok not to know/have the answers. And we’re always on a journey🥰

What this episode has taught me is that, we are ALL human and struggling and we need mercy. Some struggles are different than others and some people may NEVER get over there issues but I pray they learn to live with them and still treat people with kindness.

Fake Forgiveness, whew, thank you, I really needed this, after the loss of my only child, it has definitely tested my faith and its hard for me to "See the Goodness" I'm broken and I'm trying. Hearing Vashawn story has Definity lifted me as when I attended "Sweet Holy Spirit church" back in the days, his music and his presence took my worship to another level. I'm just trying to find my way back

The Fake Forgiveness and how become functional in the cliche of the church alter ministry. Many people go to the alter and walk away still broken because they are not aware or have the tools to move forward in the forgiveness and healing journey. Truly enjoyed this interview.

Awesome, these session need to be advertised more often. There are a lot of men and women living lives of hurt and pain because of absent parents for whatever reason and they need to know their history, their why, and who. Some say they don’t care but it shows in the life, some of their actions, habits, way of communicating etc.

What has this episode taught me…. It’s ok to “not know”. Everyone has a story and a reason. 10/10!!

So I found out about Vashawn Mitchell in the South Atlanta area going to church and bringing my now husband to Christ. Vashawn Mitchell was the worship leader. I didn’t know so much about him!! So much as changed at the church now including the names 😅but I will never forget the worship experience that he would give. Thanks Willie Moore and Vashawn! I listen to you both for different reasons and I appreciate the transparency.

Willie Moore thank you so much for sharing your testimony about inner child . The Lord introduced me to that journey at the beginning of 2023.. he came to me in a dream and showed me my preteen self during that time of my life I was very broken and shattered but in the dream I saw myself whole and complete singing in the choir as a preteen. Then by the end of that year I found out some serious news about my biological identity that I did not know. Willie Moore thank you so much for bringing vashawn on the show to discuss this necessary topic.

Woah! I didn’t expect this to hit so deep. I literally said the same exact thing about my spiritual father vs my biological father. As well as my biological father “now “ being a part of my healing process- which I ultimately didn’t expect because I had given up on having a relationship with him.

Willie Moore, I absolutely appreciate this man to man open heart assessment review. So many men are wounded and bleeding out daily, due to unaddressed childhood trauma. VaShawn's transparency and his willingness to reveal and heal, his ability to expose then close some of those lingering life events, initiated an honest sense of self assessment, to stop ignoring the inner hurting boy, crying out for help. I really love how the gospel singers are being so real and transparent about their lives!!! He said so many things that touched my heart. he was definitely on point when he said that people listen to his music when they need their hearts touched. His transparency will set so many people free. I'm such a music enthusiast that I often wonder the about the narrative behind the song. Wow! This is something I think everyone needed to hear thank you

Vashawn is my celebrity crush I appreciated this episode because I learned things about him that I never knew. I see how his love for God has saved him grew him and he’s him to become a better man than the man he was on the road to becoming. He’s very wise probably because he’s very attentive. I love that he was able to love his dad where he was instead of trying to force his dad to be the 16 year old dad he never met. My son and his father are estranged but I tell my son to accept his father for who he is ow don’t hold onto ill feelings for the father you wanted him to be as you grew up. Yo conversation with Vashawn helped me I’m sure I’ll use his insight in my life or to help my son with his relationship with his father. Great man if God thank you for using this platform to promote love and to help others.

Whew!!! This is a good one! Vashawn was our MOM at iThrive and we miss him tremendously. But this interview is a game changer. So thankful for his testimony

This conversation is so timely. Similarly, I was raised by my grandparents from birth ( who I will always consider to be my parents). I'm middle aged and struggle with abandonment and disconnection & bouts of anger. My grand parents passing intensified these feelings. I recently informed my therapist that one of my short term goals is to reach out to the person that gave birth to me be vulnerable with my feelings & have a conversation.

Great interview! It was nice hearing more about VM on a personal level. Meeting an absent parent (as a fully grown adult) really resonated with me and I believe it's something I need to take before the Lord because I feel the same way VM did 😕

This conversation was definitely an eye-opener. As a first-time watcher, I enjoyed the transparency that Vashawn gave during this interview. Being in my early to mid-twenties, I am constantly discovering more about myself as the days go by. Great interview!

I am so glad to see the resurgence of Vashawn Mitchell and thank you for doing this interview with him Willie!! My take away is that he is human and he pinned the songs by the experiences he's been through! I wanted to have a conversation with someone today to tell them that the reason I left is because I didn't "see" him as human. It stems back to my Daddy. I told my husband today that I likened my Daddy to God and my Mother to Jesus. Jesus I could go to but God.....nope....only if it is life or death but not for consistent relationship!! My Heavenly Father is still working on my view of Him, but pastors and parents and parents need to show themselves as human as well! I make it a point to let my children see me in failures and disappointments but also see me call upon the name of the Lord Jesus to help me overcome!! I Was watching Stephan Darby and they were singing "nobody greater", I hopped on RU-vid and added the song to my playlist.. that was my introduction to Mr. Mitchell .. great interview it was confirmation to me

What really struck my heart was the difference in talking about situations vs dealing with it. It hit me, so that means that I have to now reevaluate the way I have been able to move on from things in such a matter of fact type of way.

Loving the transparency. Appreciate him saying, "sometimes he wants to be in a relationship and sometimes he doesn't." This is where I am. I'll just enjoy the journey and not worry about it.
