Sometimes, a musician enters a sacred space that transcends the material world. The bhakti with which vatapi was rendered entered that space. There is no space to say "Well Done" or "Congratulations". The listener has to do a "namaskar" !
Rahul Sir, I was introduced to your songs by my friends in the US a couple of weeks ago and since then my system is playing only your songs. I send your song to my parents everyday and they enjoy your songs with Ganapati at home. My Malayali husband also listens to your songs now. I m listening to this rendition late evening....when I started this & sat with my eyes closed till it was completed I felt like I am listening to this in wee hours of morning and standing in a temple... what an experience! My mornings begin with MS'S renditions now I have added your version of prathama tula vandito. Being a south Indian when I heard your vatapi ganapatim I also heard vesudas jis rendition and then of two other great teachers maharaja pura santanam and chembai. I did feel you had your hindustani touch in this too however I place it in the league of great carnatic singers.Almost all great singers have sung once atleast Stressing on how relevant and melodious and nector like compositions of sri Dikshitar. Hindustani is beautiful no doubt however I wish to soak in some Carnatic renditions of yours please. Kripaya woh bhagya bhi dijiye.

very good performance. My humble request is to listen to this song by great Chembai Bhagavathar who immortalised this great kruthi of legendary Mutuswami Dixithar. I felt in heart the divinity when i listend to this sung bySri Chembai. I felt that Lord Guruvayurappan himself is singing the song of Lord Ganesh.

The song is in Sanskrit (not Hindi or Hindusthani). May be Rahulji meant Hindusthani syle) Sri Muthuswamy Dikshithar lived in Kashi for some years and he found a Veena in the Ganga while taking dip in the early morning hours. He learnt Hindusthani Ragas while in Kashi and used extensively in Carnatic Music. His Brundavana Saranga is legendary.

When I started listening to this rendition I wondered about the semblance of K J Jesudasji.. Maybe he might have taught you and how Blessed you were to learn from him.. But later when you narrated the story behind this kritis learning.. I couldn't say how k J ji had influenced u so young.. Such is the good impact of a good singer and the devotion with which u learnt from both Guru s is commendable.. You made this song yours in the end..
