Nice but never forget: Aviate, Navigate, Communicate. You were on an emergency. On this case you don't request an emergency descent. You advice ATC that you initiated an emergency descent.
On VATSIM, by policy all emergencies need to be approved by ATC. ATC can only do emergencies if their workload allows and if it does not impair the experience of other pilots.

@@kevo31415 You still Aviate, Navigate and then Communicate. If ATC is unable you either cancel the emergency or disconnect from the VATSIM network.
@@thibault5484 You ask if you don't want to be told to fuck off since a lot of times ATC might not be that busy but he is not prepared to do it so if you ask in advance he is expecting it and will be prepared.
I did make some mistakes here and there, like *Requesting* an emergency descent, which in real life you wouldn't do, you'd simply begin the descent without asking, however on Vatsim I didn't want to cause much trouble for the controllers if there was any traffic below me. Also it wasn't exactly a *rapid* decompression, but I acted like it was one, because the plane's plugin system didn't have any options for decompressions, simply packs failures. Thanks for the comments!
I remember flying over KLAS TWR and hearing a guy declaring a PAN-PAN due to a combative passenger with a “Burger King crown” and I had to disconnect because I was dying of laughter too much. The funny thing is the controllers actually went along with it since there wasn’t much people on. Controllers were probably S1’s or something
Have you followed the ECAM steps as you should? Beause you will turn on RAM AIR only if the Diff pressure is higher than 1 and you are below FL100. + If packs fail, you wont get rapid decompression instantly, which makes it if so, slow decompression. Your cabin altitude was still in the norm for safe operation. You will need to get to the altitude where humans can normally breathe, but it wont happen instantly + the manual mask deployment was not necessary.
I use a lot of plugins, but the visuals are a work of X-Enviro. A plugin which enhances visuals and injects real weather real time into the sim. Plus some sceneries.
I am no expert on commercial aviation, but wouldn't there be an audible decompression warning or some audible warning of falling cabin pressure? Or did I simply miss something?
Nice Video! I´ve still got a question: At 7:22 you used that kind of Landing Rate template which you´ve added while editing I guess. Could you maybe tell me how you do that or at least where you´ve got that template from? Would aprreciate it very much!
Well, maybe they didn't want to reject it. After all, all of them went with it and handled it very well. It's not as often as you think that there's an emergency.
@@LOLgamerCZ Maybe but I know a lot of ATC controllers who get shitty when someone wants to fly a turboprop aircraft instead of a turbofan aircraft because they have to do more work.
I do believe that ATC knows what "Tons" not Tuns are ^^ eventually you can give the weight in Lbs. but Decompression at that FL would force you to descent much earlier that you did
Oxygen is quite rare at higher altitudes, the oxygen masks can only supply so much so getting to an altitude where air is for the most part breathable and you are in no danger of developing joint pain aka "the bends" is a mayday call for sure. And you never know, a small emergency can turn into a bigger one in a flash
The reason I did that was because the controllers already had enough to deal with (It was during peak) and I had already surprised them with an emergency, so out of respect I asked, to make sure there wasn't anybody below me and therefore not giving them more hassle to deal with. In real life, you would initiate the descent as soon as possible, correct.
Nope, you can do an emergency whenever you'd like, however, the ATC can tell you to stop (say due to a high amount of traffic) and you have to terminate your emergency or disconnect from the network. Usually happens over the UK's airspace. One thing that is against the TOS is imitating unlawful events, like a hijacking.
