Tactyks gets the pleasant voice award from me. Most of these type of guides are unlistenable to my ears, but not this one. Very clear concise and helpful.
Thank you so much for all your guides this season! Your hard work in putting these videos together is greatly appreciated! Also I love your nameplates! Would you mind sharing please?
This is what a call a GUIDE ! thanks man really good video very detailed and even for me as a thank its al i could ever ask in a video 👍 good work! and thanks for sharing!
I don't currently have a video on this but a few people have asked for it so it's definitely something I could work on once I've finished with what I'm working on now. For a full list of my addons I actually JUST setup a brand new discord channel that has all that stuff listed in there which you can check out (still working on setting it up fully but you can have an early preview :P) discord.gg/P9x5nDZJZC
Both the WAs and Plater profile I use are available on wago, I'll link them below! I don't have my UI settings anywhere but my bars are just hidden and off to the bottom/side of the screen so they're out of the way. Plater - wago.io/NaAT_LAIh WA - wago.io/DZfolnbUX
nice thank you. what addon is the event timer, like adds and stacks on the left side of your screen ? Also whats the recommended ilvl for a fresh tank to head into vault (normal) ?
No problem! That would be bigwigs (or littlewigs for dungeons), definitely recommend grabbing either that or Deadly Boss Mods, both do a similar thing. In terms of ilvl, it of course depends on how comfortable you are on both your spec and in the fights, but as a general rule I think you'd be okay getting into the earlier bosses around 380ilvl.
Hey, thanks for the amazing guides and tips! I wanted to ask about protection paladin tanking Diurna, I was the boss tank and I've experienced siginificant difficulties dealing with Mortal Stoneclaws - it hit me like a truck despite being quite high item level and it made the fight quite messy and clutch at times. Do You think a protection paladin should be going for adds during this encounter and leave the boss for a tank with better mitigation like Warrior or DK?
Blood DK is one of the best suited to tank the boss, but realistically any tank should be able to do it on normal and heroic. My main advice would be to make sure you stagger defensive CDs, trying to never overlap high stacks of Sentinel, Eye of Tyr, and GoAK, while trying to time the usage of these abilities to be just before the Mortal Stoneclaws goes out on you, so it covers the application and most if not all of the duration. Also if you're not running it, putting a single point in Gift of the Golden Valkyr can be extremely helpful for situations like this!
Definitely something people talked about on beta but I don't think it's neccessary. If tanks are having problems with getting knocked off due to lack of movement abilities you can always try and aim yourself at the tornadoes which will help you out in a pinch.
Hi. During the cyclone phase, I always move far away as a tank… majority I see just strafing around, any tips on that? Heroic is un forgiving, appreciate any input. Thanks
With a speed boost like roar/windrush you can stay within melee range of the boss for most of the duration, then just use some sort of personal movement to make sure you don't get pulled in near the end!
how do you deal woth the knock back from the add and tank hit if you tank the boss? Sometimes the overlap is pretty nasty getting knocked from the add and then the elemental boss. As a no warrior or vdh without leap ^^
Positioning is super important, you'll want to move towards the edge of the platform with the add on it to bounce yourself back towards the boss, so that the boss will then bounce you out to but not off the edge. Depending on your class you have some ways around this like Death's Advance, Wild Charge, and Transcend on top of the leaps for vdh and warriors.
for primal council. on lfr u know i get those stack that needs to be clear the fire? do tank actually get that and have to clear or something? and the other debuff when melee simply walks to u and then u get the lightning circle. either way both have to clear if u get it?is this an issue only on lfr?
Unsure about the specifics of LFR, but for the ice debuff you still have to clear it, you just treat it like dps/healers do and just dip into the fire at 5-6 stacks. For the lightning you'll only have to deal with it if someone with the debuff runs over you (which I guess is likely to happen on LFR), so in that case you'd have to clear by touching the earth pillar, and trying not to run over anyone else in the process!
I would say whichever quarter your raid's most comfortable with, given you'll be dealing with increased damage anyhow. Nothing can really be done about it besides (maybe?) swapping to different quarters more frequently. Theorising here.
