I bought my brand new "Vauxhall Astra 1.4 Turbo SRI" the same year, but mine is a 4 cylinder thank god. May be I bought the last 4 cylinder Astra in 2019.
@@stephenrodway8357 A 4 cylinder engine has 4 spark plugs and each spark plug powers the movement of each piston by combustion in their perspective cylinder. Therefore, a 4 cylinder engine runs far better compared to only having 3 cylinders because 3 cylinders has to work harder to make up for having one cylinder less.
Good review there. Particularly valuable as I am currently looking at these for my parents, spookily enough, they cannot decide if they prefer the sovereign silver or this "flip chip" silver which looking at this video (and images on autotrader etc) appears to have a blue hue about it.
Thanks! Colour is important - you've got be happy and comfortable with the look and style of your car. Suggest they try to see the colours in the metal before deciding. Shouldn't be too hard, plenty of Astras out there - LOL!
For the interior cutaways I used stock footage from Vauxhall and it did not specify exactly what spec the car was, sorry about that. The interior featured when you see me in it, is the SRI
You said the stereo sounded great, I've heard other people say there's a lack of base, is the car you reviewed the standard system or an upgraded sound system.

It is. Vauxhall's electric PAS is ridiculously over assisted. There are better systems out there. I have a Mazds 6 with electric steering, it's firm and direct with loads of feedback. EPAS systems are not one and the same.
@@BrownCarGuy Thank you for your reply, sorry I missed the bit when you said it was three-cylinder. In October I ordered a Astra Sports Tourer SRI Auto 1.4 turbo petrol ( not sure yet when it will be made ) I was not able to have a test drive and I just wondered how the engine performed and how quiet it is compared to my present car which is a 2019 Astra Elite Nav 1.4 Auto turbo petrol Sports Tourer with a four-cylinder engine. Nice review.
@@stephendodge4086 how is the three cylinder? If you now have it, because personally i don't think I'll like it the 2017 4 cylinder 1.4T SRI is what i have and i really domt think a 3 cylinder will be as durable/reliable for 145bhp than the 4 cylinder was fof it's 150bhp
@@haseebhussain3327 I have had the car since the end of January so have had it for eight weeks now. Many car makers are now using three cylinder engines. Sabb many years ago used three cylinder two stroke engines with which they won a lot of rallies. I am very surprised with how well the three cylinder engine performs and, how much pulling power it has, and very good fuel economy, compared to my previous four cylinder Astra this one has a bit more power and I prefer the feel and sound of it.
Honestly..ive had many astra G 2002 last one 276,000 miles the only reason it went was gear lever got very very stiff when gearbox hot. I thought at first the K was great then the clutch pedal goes to floor several times( have to flck it up wth foot!) having electric handbrake..it was a really pain. Reading on web..the clutch prob is fairly common issue
I have the same model 2017 Elite Nav, touch wood no problems so far. iLux headlights are brilliant. I do feel i've been lucky so far based on other peoples comments about the clutch and engine.

It has been nothing but a styling option since 2004 at least. Different wheels and bumpers. VX line is for the bodykit similar to old XP bodykits of the mk5.
