The Kitchen and Fridge and Toiet are great. However, the bed is too much of a hassle. Imagine setting it up while it is raining outside. A simple sturdy slideout (heavy duty) and two small rectangles of wood will do the trick easy. Srew the wood pieces to the frame, slide the bed out, put mattress in place and turn the wood rectangles by 90° so the mattress cannot move to the side. At the same time, this will also prevent the bed frame from sliding in again, because the 2 mattress pieces (with your weight on top) won't budge 😊. Saves a lot of buttons and pieces.
Looks all: Solid Technology, with a lot of experiences by Campervans. With many items for max. comfort. Just need the change in bed mode more easy. (I would weld on the three metal stands. The door should be larger, at the water canisters. I have a Vauxhall Combo, but less windows = cargo version. For to convert into a Minicamper like this. Greetings from sw germany.

I've just bought a VxCombo and been searching for bed ideas. This whole set-up is excellently organized EXCEPT (as others have said) to set up the bed for the night is far too complicated ! Sorry ... can you set it up with the doors closed i.e. without going around the van from front to back (twice!) ❓🙄🙄 Also I just hate, hate that "rounded doors with the plastic edges" thingy - it is *incredibly* old hat now - I remember going on holiday in the sixties and that was in the caravan we stayed in. Please go watch some other van tours, which have a much more homely feel to them. Do you actually like that plastic ❓😳😳😳
Thank's for your comment Jo. Yes it can be setup with the doors closed, unfortunately we couldn't video it that way due to the camera angle and space available to do so internally. For this reason it was easier for us to walk around the outside. I'd agree the bed has quite a few moving components which makes it a little trickier than just sliding the main frame across, like we normally do. After some thought this was the simplest way to make everything work, whilst keeping the height of the seat low and having room to store the porta potti inside. Once you have a routine it's fairly straightforward. Granted not best demonstrated in the video by myself. Ourselves and many others in the industry like the edge trim and contouring corners. It offers protection to the board edges which can be replaced if ever required, you have multiple finish choices available also. Again personal preference on this and I appreciate not everyone likes the same thing. For us the main thing is it's exactly what the customer wanted.
Rounded doors with plastic edges. Its simple, easy and most of all cheap to make and fast to install. It also hides the quality of the chipboard used to make it instead of lighter more durable plywood (more expensive too) but VERY worth it. Money saver. If the client doesn't ask for something better quality, this is what he gets. Still never understood why oh why people insist on driving around with a fixed kitchen sink in the back of their vans ... Make a detachable box with a sink if you really want one with gas hobs IF that's what you like so that when the weather is good you can do the cooking OUTSIDE and the van doesn't end up stinking like a fast food outlet or a pub. Have an awning and cook on the side of yr van under the rain. If yr stuck you can also use it inside the van BUT; best of all. When you change vans - or god forgive, if you have an accident - its very easy to remove the stuff and transfer it to your new transport. I'm doing this in my Vauxhall Zafira. One side is a bed - other side has a box with all the necessary which is used OUTSIDE and leaves space for tons of storage space for a mountainbike etc.
