good job on this fella .. I am in process of trying to do my girlfriends astra j 2013 1.4 turbo mk6 and awaiting sensor delivery tomorrow as old one was rotton and fell apart but stupidly bought a second hand header tank as well but there is no rattle on it so I am assuming its the float but I cannot see it inside ...is it possible to clean the tank out and get float working ? Do all models have a float ? Or should I cut losses and buy a new header....cheers ahead matey and again you covered a lot for people on this well done !
All Vauxhall have water level issues ... those expansion tanks either split or the sender unit fails. Another problem is the thermostat housing is plastic and they fail every 5 years or so. I've had TWO expansion tanks and TWO thermostat housings on my Astra in 8 years.
I have same problem. But indont see milkshake oil on my car for a head gasket problem. The car seller is not a person but a car sales company, say to me to change the tap and the expansion tank becouse there the problem and they can pay for it
Hi, on Astra j 1.7cdti, the coolant level has no min/max marks on it. I see only a longer line with a up pointed arrow so i assume that is the minimum level. Can you tell me where is the maximum level? Thanks
So how to vent the cooling system? I know it is there venting screw in the corner of radiator, but I am not sure if I did it properly... Maybe the issue is somewhere else. I have changed thermostat and was broken at all. The spring comes out from the body of thermostat. There was broken two mountings of this spring. One of them I found nearby. It seems like water pump is broken or something... Thank you for an answer in advance!
