As a Nigerian, I see South Africans as our brothers. It's disheartening to see that many in South Africa aren't aware that we passionately supported their fight for freedom from apatheid. It feels like our efforts have been forgotten, and now, instead of unity, there's tension. We were taught to respect and love our South African brothers, so when this animosity comes from them, it forces Nigerians to be so upset-"it feels one-sided respect wise". I mean we let them have so many investments that benefits their country. Yet they started Xenophobia, hating us because we are resourceful and can survive anywhere (Nigerians became successful in SA).
