Very exciting to view the Tram ride! Thanks for the postings from India! This transportation system is pollution free and economical. If it is explored in our country it will be a better and cheaper alternative to Metros!
@33:55 It is a bit of a walk to the Rietberg, as it is uphill from the tram stop, but the displays are astounding. I went there on 2nd February 2018. After I visited, I went to the Wesendonck cafe for a cup of coffee and slice of cake, before going to the FIFA World Cup museum at the Bahnhof Enge.
That's the side effect of a classic city-planning screw-up: the tunnel was originally supposed to be part of a Zürich Subway project that in the end failed to get greenlit from the voters. As such, it has a middle platform. Because it had already been bilt, Zürich decided to keep using it for the existing tram lines. To increase passenger seating, the trams only have doors that open to the right, so the trains have to switch side in the tunnel.
It wasn't a screw-up. Yes, the tunnel was originally supposed to be a part of the Zürich Subway, but it was clear from the start that it can be used as a Tram-tunnel if the voters reject the subway project.
Can I please ask a question why was a number 17 tram coming out of Bahnhofstraße? I was just wondering because I know that route 17 starts at Bahnhofplatz/HB.
