Beautiful watch with a very unconventional way of tracking a second time zone. I do however understand why they don’t call it a GMT. After 12:00 GMT, this watch no longer tracks GMT. GMT time is a 24 hour, military system. 3:00 pm is never expressed as anything but 1500Z or 15Z. Still, very attractive and practical watch - albeit not practical enough for this 747 pilot. I need a 24 hour GMT function.
Hi Derek, I'm in a fortunate and unique situation to obtain the beautiful VC Overseas Dual Time. I make my living as a nature photographer and find myself in very roughed environmental conditions almost on a daily occurrence. Is the VC Overseas Dual Time tough enough to handle this. Thank you
Man, I'm down the same rabbit hole as you (saw your vid on your dilemma)! I'm wondering if it could do the job of an Explorer, but with more, well, more! So is it the Fifty Fathoms (amazing watch, an option for you?) of outdoor watches or a toy like the AP Offshore Diver? My take is that it sits in the middle: it would require more service care than Rolex (fine with that) but the lug system raises doubts. I have heard anecdotal issues concerning the movement (perhaps down to mis-setting, perhaps not) and the bracelet QR attachment (more worrying). Looking at the design, that stands out as the main negative/potential weakness (as it has been for eg IWC) - I think you'd want to wear it on the strap for harder conditions and watch for wear like a hawk, cleaning the lug/bar/mechanism area regularly. But I think the watch itself would take the strain. As hassle/worry free as a Rolex? No, but a far more interesting and special piece - Hasselblad vs Nikon? But special is as special does and Rolex just plain work. Best of luck with your decision - there's few of us out there who like to wear a watch hard in the outdoors!
@@jameshoward9700 Thank you very much for all this. Yeah it is just one of those things that the VC is a truly special watch, maybe too special to just go beating it up out in the wilderness. I'm not sure, you hit the nail on the head, there might be better options out there for me. The last thing I need to worry about is my watch while I'm trying to do my job. Thanks again for your input, Cheers
You probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch all of the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my brother for the last couple of months :)
Great demo of the watch, one question please " Does the movement have a hacking feature to set the seconds hand at zero" Thank you very much and just to add I have been to your flagship store here in Flushing, Queens NY it is a beautiful store with a great selection and your staff are very polite and helpful too. All the best.
No because you don’t need to know whether it’s AM or PM where you are… you want to know if it’s AM/PM with your reference time hand since it’s a 12 hour GMT hand not 24h.
