You extend the towbar to spread the weight on a bigger surface. That way you ease up the point load on example bridges..

I korte trekk er det akselavstandene som bestemmer litt om hvordan utforming av hengeren er. Derfor blir kassene stor også. Man kan kjøre med totalvekt 60tonn med dette på utvalgte veier. Usikker på hva teknisk vekt er.

That accually a good spotting, but the truck is same. It has a 6x4 with Volvos new lift tandemaxle system. Loaders are a Volvo outboard clip and cat onboard. :)

You have massive roads in NZ. Come to Europe, you will struggle to drive long trucks.

Well, depends what country yo're referring to. This is a truck, a dolly and a trailer, three vehicles and referred to as a vehicletrain or roadtrain in Scandinavia.

Its to increase the lenght between truck and trailer. This gives you the possibility to increase total weight from 50 tonnes to 60 tonnes.

It spreads weight more allowing for a bigger GVW

allows to dump the truck without disconnect the trailer

any vehicle with a trailer is a roadtrain. even a car with a small boat lol

Нагрузка на дорогу и мосты, чем длиннее и больше осей тем меньше нагрузки. По Скандинавии так едем.

This truck and trailer combo, are on public roads with weight, height and length regulations, operating in normal traffic. To f.ex Franzefoss to pick up gravel, and then haul it to the biggest railway project to this time in Norway, where he dumps it, and goes back out to do the same over and over again. The standard length of a Norwegian road train, has for many years been 22m. (18,5 on truck and trailer combo) A few years ago, they gave permission to use 25,25m road trains on Europe highway & and 18 (E6 & E18). In Sweden, 25,25m is the standard. Then we go to the northern parts of Sweden and Finland, close to the Russian border, and you'll almost see road trains like you have in AU, because these are mining trucks or timber trucks hauling huge loads on roads designed for it. But also, in the old days, those timber transports and those ore transports, were hauled by trains only, so we didn't need no roads to handle these weights. Take your road train to downtown melbourne, at sunset and you'll face the same issues as we got here probably. And also, the most of AU isn't like Swiss cheese, whether Oslo is. And many roads are built on clay ground, where the road is held up by pillars.

thats just the limit for regular traffic in Norway. can pull 500 tons on special allowance. but need many axles for that.
