Thanks for these profound reflections! Referring to Shri Anandamayi Ma (35.45 min.), she said to Yogananda: „My consciousness has never associated itself with this temporary body “ and asked: „What have you achieved by your sadhana?“ she answered: „Here the question of achievement or sadhana does not arise. I am what I always have been.“ There was no karma or mission to be fulfilled. Yet, in 1917 there arose the kheyal (divinely free impulse): „How would it be to play the role of a sadhika?“ Then following a self-initiation on full moon August 3rd 1922, many different states started to manifest spontaneously, the subtle form of a guru, mantra and deity manifesting themselves out of herself, asanas which she had not known before, hymns, healing powers, independence of food, levitation, 3 years of silence etc. It is reported that she practiced all spiritual disciplines of the Hindu scriptures and of other religions as well. She said: „In order to attain to a particular stage along one of those lines of sadhana an ordinary individual may have to be born again and again, but in the case of this body it was a matter of a few seconds … therefore the example of this body should not be considered …When the different stages of sadhana manifested through this body something like a superimposition of ignorance happened. But what kind of ignorance was it? Actually it was knowledge masquerading as ignorance.“ This sadhana lila - play of sadhana - lasted 6 years from 1918 - 1924.

Gosh, yes indeed. The adviata teachers l listen to do say that after discovering the illusion, thru self enquiry, to return to this world. But no going back. One loses too much.
