I think it may have been his later realisation. I find strong caste tones in some of his films like mudhal mariyadhai & manvasanai. Perhaps it is ok to be proud of their own culture whilst maintaining respect for one another

Our religion gives a person his individual rights. Sanathana is opposite to Anaadha.(orphan) It is only in Hinduism where every philosophy or spirituality has a special place and co exist peacefully. Be it Vedic, Vedanta,(Upanishads) Shaiva, Vaishnava, Shaktheya, Advaitha, Dvaitha, Vishishta Dvaitha, Agamic, Thantric, Tribal beliefs etc. It is from one absolute reality (EkamSat/Brahman) everything in this universe came. Devas and Devis were also created like us. They are in our minds too. Only difference is that they do all the natural phenomenon in this observable universe. In Vedic times it was Indra who was omnipresent. Varuna was the keeper of cosmic law. Agni was inner desire or ambition of human mind to achieve great heights. Mitra is helper of Varuna. In post vedic times all this changed. Vedic Rudra become Shiva, Prajapathi become Brahma, Vishnu become more powerful and Sachi (Indra wife) become Shakti. Mahajanapadas influenced Sangam period too. Pandyas were the first to receive brahmins(Poorvashikhas/Mukkudumi) from north during last stage of Sangam. Then came Kalabhras. It is only from Pallava period Brahmins (Apara Shikha/Pinkudumi) acquired more powerful status and granted land. Ok we are deviating from topic. Another great scene is the sankracharya scene, where the kid questions sankracharya about being carried by men in the palanquin, for the reason given to him by his father, he questions then again abt the men who carried sankracharya. It was a big slap for monks who never consider abt others. When i was a kid, i was never allowed to question elders, although it is elders who teach us good things, but when it comes to practice they never follow it.

Can this be applied to other parts of India or world? Why only in Tamilnadu or within Tamil society ? Do you think keeping their profession or family name after their first name is wrong? The actual problem with casteism Or racism is seeing others inequal. That needs to be eradicated. The naming helps people to identify their history, lineage, hierarchy, family group etc. Can you suggest this on India level instead of doing it only in Tamilnadu? Do you think it makes sense? Naming with profession name or family name are never shown as evil when the ruler belongs to same society. When the ruler is from Minority or outside the society, then they start to point out Groupism in any form is evil as part of politics. Is it not the way of silently dismantling the existing society as part of divide & rule. It helps to take control of them by erasing their identity ? Insecure rulers think Groupism in any form is threat to their power. Are you dare to say "one religion", "one world" instead of "one nation" concept in india? We all already know there is only one nation named India in this world map. That too named by outsiders. We all know it is union of states. What is the use of mentioning explicitly when it is already like that? If anyone say "one religion" or "one world (no borders)" they can't survive or their politics end with that. They know nobody is going to accept it. Can you first make this happen before doing "name" politics in the disguise of casteism? The kid questions in this movie are not really smart or having any value. The character doesn't know how to answer is the problem with director knowledge politics around this movie. Moreover movies are puppet in the hands of rulers. Story telling itself a politics. People needs to understand this. They should not blindly go with any stories. *The insecure feeling within human results in doing all dismantling works to safeguard themselves.* *It applies from family level to society to national to international level.* This psychological impact starts from rulers to individual level. Movies, TV serials, most of the News broadcasted in news channel, some of the religious directions are *output of/input to the insecure feeling* . We can easily study the people/channel who indulge in propagating/sowing insecure feeling among the human are part of the network who benefit out of your insecure feeling.
