Hi!I don’t know if you would ever see this because this video is two years old; I made these black eyes today, they are the best I’ve ever had!!!! thank you for the recipe💕💕💕
Okay, was looking for a black eyed peas recipe (Vegan Style) and yours was the first one to pop up. All I can say is you should smell my house and you should taste my beans after I made this “today” in my pressure cooker. It took me 60 minutes and you are so right it is Awesome. I can’t wait for my husband to walk in from work and smell this goodness. Thanks so much for sharing. New sub and gardener friend. I hope you have other vegan recipes.
Looking at vegan soul food recipes and somehow ended up here. I kept thinking.... This guy looks familiar. Lol. I am Toya's cousin. Love the recipe and the garden looks amazing. Always wanted my own garden.
Oh wow. Lol Yea we will be doing more vegan recipes once we atart harvesting our produce. What type of vegan foods are you looking for? Thanks for watching and subscribing
@@TheNakidGardeners 🤣 I have never ever made it! In fact, I have just recently heard that this is quite the NYE tradition so I started to look into it further.
Thank you, this looks really good - the addition of Liquid Smoke is a good one (I've only just discovered it so I'm not yet confident about where I can use it and what it works with).
Awww Thank you Patti. Mrs. NG has been a tremendous input to our channel. I believe she has helped the channel grow tremendously. Do you normally eat meatless meals?
I made this today on the stovetop and it was delicious! I used peppers and some herbs from the garden and also added some chopped long bean pods. I had to make some ingredient substitutions based on what I had on hand (serrano instead of jalapeno pepper, added a little smoked paprika and savory) and it still turned out great. Thank you! Love your channel!
I really like this recipe. Well done. I usually use pepperoncini's or nothing and put them in a fast marinara over some pasta; I even made stuff eggplant with blackeye. These are a seed. Fun fact: The blackeye pea seed was cultivated by the Chinese and Indians in prehistoric times, 2.5 million years ago.
Searched for "vegan black-eyed peas" and your video was at the top, and I'm so glad! Love this recipe, this is exactly what I needed to learn. Can't wait to watch more from your channel. Thanks for this!
Hope you enjoy We haven't done another vegan dish in a long time so I hope you will not be disappointed by staying. Every now and then I will do one though,.
@@TheNakidGardeners I will not be disappointed--when I found out your channel focuses on small allotment gardening, I was immediately in! My current city-living situation leaves me longing for the day when I can do the same, so I'm always looking to learn more!
You say you both noticed a big difference in your lifestyle with a plantbased diet, but you didn't say what. I'd love to know how it has enhanced your life. This is a GREAT video - I am going to buy smoked salt for my beans. Never thought of that. When people watch cooking videos, the tasting seals the deal - please consider incorporating a tasting session so we can see your response to the beautiful plants you're preparing. Again, great video.
As far as the differences we noticed, more energy, less bloating, deeper sleep and weight loss. Mrs. Nakid garden has fibromyalgia and a noticeable decrease in inflammation became apparent. Thanks for watching! -The Mrs 😊
@@TheNakidGardeners This is amazing! Keep spreading the good news about plants with your videos (consider a video sharing how your life has been enhanced by plants). In other news, I don't know how Mother H*****d (God rest her soul) would feel about you saying she can't cook though. lol #onelove #family
For one, without trying to be too graphic, im less constipated. Teo, im sleeping better and have less trouble falling asleep once I lay my head down. Three, I don't for tired after eating breakfast lunch and dinner. I have more energy. I drink coffee less. Been losing weight as well is a big plus without working out. What have you noticed while going plant based eating?
Ma Dukes would say she couldn't cook. But it made a turd. Somethings she could cook very well on. Others, well...she may had lost her touch. I agree, i should had showed the finished project of our food. I will take the into considerarion on our next plant based recipe we used from our backyard garden.
@@TheNakidGardeners I used to have panic attacks - now I don't. I had irritable bowel - now I don't. My knees used to feel achy at the joints...painful - now they don't. Energy is through the roof. Had painful cycles - now I don't. I still have a ways to go for healing since I do consume a fair share of vegan junk food. My goal is to get back to whole plant foods - and walk away from processed foods altogether.
Thank you for this recipe! My boyfriend is from Texas and has been asking me to make Black Eyed Peas. I've actually never had them before (i'm from Minnesota and grew up in a Mexican family). Thanks to this recipe, i can make them now! Thank you! One question- Were the black eyed peas in the crockpot dried black eyed peas? If so, did you use one pound or two pounds? Also, do you think you could make a video on how to make vegan Okra and vegan corn bread? He keeps asking for Vegan Black eyed peas and Okra with vegan cornbread. Thanks so much!
Welcome and thanks for subscribing. yes, the black eye peas were dried. You need to soak them overnight to help get them soft and tender. Otherwise, you will have to cook them too long and lose a lot of flavors. We used a pound of them. Good luck trying to find them now with this Covid-19 scare. We actually started some okra this past weekend. So once we get a nice harvest I will do a video on doing some okra recipes. We are searching for the right pickling recipe. Do you think he would like some okra and tomatoes over rice dish? Vegan cornbread? I will have to search for that. I think I have a friend that has done this.
#letsgrowtogether I’ve made this a few times and it’s delicious. It hits every time and I saved this video so I can come back and make it this way over and over. THANK you!
@@TheNakidGardeners I do cook a lot of meatless dishes. I don’t have a go to dish. I just make my meals based on what’s in the house. I hate to grocery shop, so I make big purchases. I let the food do what it do. Lol.
