In France we have those hard discounts / outlet type of stores called Noz and they are bargains heaven ! They have vegan things from all over the world, cosmetics, clothing and even a small frozen section. Most items are between a few cents and 5€, I really enjoyed watching this video ! :D
Grocery outlet is the best! I live in Washington state and they are everywhere! I never pay full price for coffee, meat alternatives or non dairy cheese!
Same! I avoided this store for years, but now it’s my favorite!!! It’s life thrift shopping for me…let’s go to grocery outlet and see what they have today!
Grocery Outlet started in Berkeley, CA, and my dad used to take us to the original store there. Now, they have sprouted up everywhere since they are a franchise. They have a lot of vegan groceries there, which is the best
Wasn’t it a co-op at first? I used to shop there in Berkeley back in the day. But they didn’t have all this vegan stuff then!! O no, it wasn’t a co-op. I think that was a separate place. The Whole Foods replaced it in the 80’s I think
Audible gasp when I saw the Oatly for .99 cents. I would be hoarding. I had never heard of that chain before, but I see I have a few near me... Will check it out. ⚡
Ohhhh I’m so jelly!!! That would be the closest one to me too (from Connecticut). But now I really really realllllllllly wanna go and do a massive haul!
super lucky to live near a grocery outlet! so many plant based options (at least at the one near me) for soooo much cheaper than say, whole foods. it's a life saver!
I love Grocery Outlet so much! Not only can you save so much, but they frequently have items that I’ve never even seen anywhere else! The only problem is when I fall in love with something and then they run out and either I can’t find it again or can’t justify paying twice or three times the price for it at Whole Foods or Sprouts
GrocOut was my favorite find when I moved to NorCal a few years ago. It’s my default supermarket. You can’t count on them having a particular item, but if you’re flexible with your list, you can score great deals. Im sad you don’t have one closer!
Love Grocery Outlet! I have 2 in my town. They each carry something a little different. I get most of my vegan cheese and faux meats there. So glad u got to visit one!
I completely LOVE grocery outlet. I live in Philly and I’m a 15 minute walk from one. I do my main produce and staples shopping at Aldi but head there to stock up on dry, canned, and frozen (or freezable!) options. I hope they can come to New York City soon for you!!
Really fun video! I’ve never heard of a grocery outlet store before. I think ALDIs is supposed to be a cheaper grocery option ,but they sell their own brands that are different from Walmart or Kroger, Meijers.
insanity. There is a Grocery Outlet 5 blocks from me and I never go there!!! I tried plant base for a week and surprisingly I was very fulfilled and excited every day when it was time to pre a meal, so much that I am doing plant based 4 days out of the week. GLAD TO KNOW I can expand my food and snack options at Grocery Outlet. Just really have to watch the date on the their stuff... GOD BLESS VEGAN CHEESE..
I live near a grocery outlet but hardly get a chance to go. My best finds there have been a tub of Earth Balance for $5 and HUGE bag of Gardein sausages for $3
I usually go to the one in Easton, PA right off the RT. 22 exit. It is really good. RT. 22 you can get to easily from NYC or just take 78 and switch to 22 when you get close. Then you can go to other interesting places like The Easton Market with Modern Crumb Bakery and Highmark Foods which have vegan items. Hazlet can be hard to get to down the shore with all the traffic. Another thing I really like is the produce section with discounted, local organic produce. There is also a housewares section where you can get snapware, coffeepots, etc. You generally save 50% or so off the bill.
I LOVE Grocery Outlet!! Take the subway and PATH and go with Roberto to have help carrying the bags. But caution: Grocery Outlet is addicting😅 PS- I know it would be far for you on the train, but you could make a day of it and stop by Jerrells in Hoboken. Also, I'm interested to know your thoughts on Gaia and Loki in Jersey City. And the vegan slices as Tony Baloney (compared to Screamers)
Grocery Outlet is so cool. I live very close to one. Mine had the packs of daring chicken for $2.99 recently! I don’t go as often as I once did. I am disabled and need to be able to take my grocery cart to my car to transport my groceries. They recently changed the grocery carts where you can’t take them outside the store don’t get me wrong, I still go. I just take my rollator and a couple of bags that I clip on my mobility device. 😂
Ok…I NEED to make a trip 😍 I plan my meals similar to you, and freeze stuff too. I would probably go there to get my monthly grocery stuff for work since they seem to have what I use as well as what I eat after I get home too!
I thought this was my uber eats app notifying me for a split second 😂 I go to outlets here in Aus and luckily I get some good stuff with no tolls but it's hit and miss as to whether you get good vegan stuff 😊 Edit: I always get the calbee pea crisps when they have the salt and vinegar flavour, I love snacks and they're addictive.
I also like grocery outlet, but some of their items are more expensive than other stores, especially produce. The "other stores charge" comparison prices are ridiculous, at least where i live. Maybe whole foods, the only grocery store on the planet without a store within 5 miles of me. Hint on tofu, the kroger chain of stores,( king soopers, ralphs, city market +) have 1.79 tofu. That's the regular price. Thanks for your channel! Item they always seem to have- vegan cheese.
Grocery Outlet is the greatest grocery store ever! It literally is a game changer and it is in fact a vegans paradise! You will definitely get a lot of vegan products! 😂😂😂😂
I’m so excited to go to go to grocery outlet bargain market! Its the only place I shop now aside from produce junction. Their prices are too good not to shop there. Thankfully I have one just a few blocks away. I can’t believe you were able to contain yourself w all the great sales.
I just discovered my local grocery outlet and it has a lot of what you got. I LOVE those OMNI crab cakes. They're so good. I put them on warm rice and eat it like a sushi bowl sort of thing.
Loved this video! I've seen this store within an hour of me (I'm in the backwoods of the Poconos/PA) and always wondered if it was worth going into! Thanks for the info ❤️
I have one like 2min from me and another 35min... Sometimes things are about to expire but sometimes they are not... I love the store... Awesome price for organic frozen fruit....
I just wanna say between you and vegan hacks - the FIRST thing I did when I was in CA last week was find a grocery outlet 😂 the prices were indeed ridiculous
WOW! $60 bucks ... I have one of those individual protein drinks you got 2 of in my fridge bc I had a coupon but haven't tried it yet. Let us know how it is 😉
I've had riped jackfruit tacos in a restaurant in Brooklyn and it was so good... I know you're not a fan of sweet and savory but I think you should try it... I have to find the name of the restaurant... someone took me last year but I'm so forgetful 🤦♀️
i used to work at grocery outlet... they get a lot of products from foreign countries and if you look at the ingredients they tend to be the more "natural" ingredients. sugar instead of corn syrup that kinda thing. Not that that makes it better necessarily
Idk if you remember the double rainbow 🌈 video that went viral years back. I think someone should make a video of you and your Taco Bell crunchy shells. Hahahaha.
The parkway thing is so confusing & the same in NY and maybe all states? I’m always scared driving my short bus on them even though I’m registered as a passenger vehicle because apparently you also technically can’t even have something on a roof rack on parkways 😭
Hmmm, just looked up Grocery Outlet locations and the closest is only about 500 miles away. yay 🙄 Oh well, I'd probably spend waaaaay too much money if I went. 😁
The variety of vegan products there (ice creams, meat, milk, cheese etc.) is unbelievable, here in Brazil we can barely find any and if we do they are really overpriced 💔😢
I would be such a bad influence on you if we went shopping together. You would think with some of the stores not out of business in the five boroughs they could put one in Brooklyn or Queens!
Love Grocery Outlet, but sadly, a lot of their stuff is close to expiration. You really have to vet the products before buying. Last time I was at Grocery Outlet, I saw that they had vegan shredded mozzarella that expired 6 months ago….. 🤢
If you think it’s worth it, maybe you could carpool with somebody else and go splits on the cost of the toll and maybe it’ll be worthwhile going to the grocery outlet from time to time ? :)
Another excellent video from the beautiful Rebecca. I will need to do a shopping haul in Aldi despite it's a longer distance from home because its my viewers/subscribers favourite store ( if it's going to get me more viewers and subscribers that is what i have to do.) Love 💞Rebecca.
You have come across a third career. You always seem to find food(s) that, at times most can't find. Ever consider doing a small shop for folks (small shopping spree for "members of your new biz"). In other words folks pay you to shop for them since you seem to have a knack for finding amazing things. Sooooooo jealous that you found the Oatly Barista Milk for .99c. Can anyone say Personal Shopper
Grocery Outlet single handedly restored my faith in humanity feels like pre-inflation times when you go in there 🥹 It's def a random assortment of stuff and you have to be careful checking expiration dates but omg for a frugal ass person like myself living in a HCOL area, it's the best ever !!!
