Growing up we didn’t have that much money for travel and leisure, but I remember my parents saved up and took me to see Siegfried and Roy when I was a kid - because I love animals. Good memories from the 90s. The place looked like a palace, just full of luxury and class. I’ve never stayed there but my last walk through was like 2010.

Definitely bitter sweet. Mirage was the first place my wife and I stayed in when we first traveled to Vegas back in 08’. I will never forget walking out of the hotel and seeing all the lights of the strip. I hope the Hard Rock builds something amazing but we will still miss the Mirage.

Great Video Jordan wow melancholy thoughts about the closing of such an iconic property. My memory of having a Pina Colada with wife and parents dressed to the nines in the old lounge listening to the act there made me feel that “I’d arrived”. I hear the fish tank has been bought by Mandalay Bay which is nice. Goodbye old friend you will be missed 😢

We stayed at the Mirage in June 1990, it was less than a year old. It was so impressive, there had never been anything like it before. Such great memories.

We are heartbroken at the loss of the Mirage. Many of our of favorite memories over the last 12 years are from the Mirage. We are praying they don’t change the Sportsbook or atrium. We only stayed once, but made a point of going back to spend time on every trip. When we were there for Thanksgiving and “The Game” in 2018, we made some of our best memories. We were never so appreciative of the Volcano for the warmth it provided, even across the street. It’s going to be tough to feel the same way about anything else.

Thank you for this Video. I stayed at the Mirage 15 nights straight in June. Had the Panoramic corner Room on the 24th Floor with an awesome view at the Volcano. Been to the Pool almost every day. Very sad it's gone for good now. 😢

Loved my stay at Mirage back in 2022, you could tell it was once the crown jewel of the strip and it was still an above average hotel even towards it's final few months.

As a Mirage fan from opening day, this was very well done and a fitting closing for Lady Mirage. When MGM made the purchase in 2000 it maintained itself purely on reputation but eventually the lack of maintenance caught up and sadly we moved to other Wynn resorts. I’m not sure a big glass guitar will draw me in like the tropical Mirage but we still have Wynn/Encore.

I stayed at the Mirage quite a few times. Such a unique property with the volcano, the atrium, the aquarium, and the beautiful pool. We began staying at the Venetian but we still visited The Mirage on every trip.

Great video. I stayed there the 13th & 14th, on the same floor, even (20048) and spent Sunday at the private pool. It was eerie and sad and as you stated, kind of a lot to wrap your mind around. Every employee I spoke with seemed to have been in good spirits and several had been there since Day 1 (a couple of which were retiring). I was glad to later find out that they weren't razing the whole place and are keeping the main hotel structure, so it will kind of live on as a ghost of itself. Edit: 4:02, white shirt center-left standing under the umbrella. You caught me!

Was bummed to hear Mirage was closing-it was always one of my favorites in Vegas and stayed there a few times. I loved it in the late 90's/early 2000's the best. They had that bar in the middle rainforest-very cool environment. I know Vegas is always changing so it's best not to get attached to anything but I will miss alot of the classics from when I first came here in 1995. Have to wonder what's next to go after this and Tropicana. I'm kind of amazed Circus Circus and Excalibur are still there. Hope they keep Ceasars Palace around-I'd say it's too iconic to knock down but nothing is safe in Vegas. And for those who like the atmosphere of Mirage, Mandalay Bay is similar and a very gorgeous hotel.

I miss Steve Wynn on the Wynn earnings calls, it was literally a master class he had so much passion for the customer experience and of course designing all the great hotel/casinos that he did. I have been going to Bellagio for 25 years since it opened and of course I visited Mirage and TI before that. Very well done video, let's hope that Hard Rock does a good job, and it it's anything like Hollywood, FL or Atlantic City it will be really nice.

I am going to miss the Mirage as it was my favorite Vegas hotel. I especially enjoyed seeing the volcano as a kid especially at night & the excellent customer service I got when staying there as an adult. Great job with the video Jordan. Hopefully Hard Rock builds something that is close to what the Mirage was in terms of quality & comfort & it is good that the Hard Rock name is back in Vegas because they were unfairly pushed out of their original site by Virgin in my view.

Ceasers Palace was the resort that changed everything. Read the book about Jay Sarno. That’s who Steve Wynn learned his vision from.

Caesars changed Las Vegas, sure. But Mirage saved Las Vegas from possible extinction. Equally important. But Steve Wynn’s accomplishments outweigh Sarno’s by a long shot IMO.

To stay competitive in its niche? Yes. Luxor is in good shape. Excalibur is rough but it’s a budget property and is kept in line with its price point. To remain a competitive 4 star resort the Mirage needs a billion dollars invested…
