I was backpacking in Italy. I was in Rome and I was very early for my tour. Near the Vatican a Sardarji was setting up his street shop selling mementos. I was thirsty and my water bottle was empty. So I walked up to him and asked for some water. He was so happy to see me. He offered me water and some oranges that he had with him in his bag (maybe for his breakfast/lunch). He also told me the same thing that if you are hungry and need lunch or dinner meet me at the same place and I'll take you to the nearest gurudwara for a meal and a place to sleep. He also gave me his phone number to call in case of any emergencies... Incidentally his name was also Daljit... Sir.. thanks to people like you, we always have a friend in need.

I already been to Thailand 3 times and Thai people are really very nice. They are polite and super friendly. If u r still in Bangkok Then don't miss the Songkran Festival (13th-15th April) i would recommend u to go to Khao san road, RCA and Silom BTS, I m sure you gonna enjoy it. kob khun krap for uploading it.

When i traveled thailand i took ready to eat food packed food with me along with rice cooker as well as uncooked rice everyday i used to open the new packet and boil rice and used to eat fresh without hassle which costed me 100baht per day of food in this way apart from my daily breakfast from bread and butter i enjoyed my 10 days trip soon i will be traveling to thailand soon i will share a video too of how to save on food in bangkok

Thanks for your comment, buddy :) I usually do the same on my road trips. I carry an electric cooker and ready to eat things. But its quite difficult to carry them all on hitchhiking trips.

Well thats your choice but i dont do hitchhiking stuff i save enough for my travel to cover all my travel cost i dont wait for someone to me a lift when i save money on food and utilize the saved amount for my taxi and hotel travel its safe and fun that way at least i dont face food issues

If you are vegetarian, and traveling to Thailand, Singapore, or Hong Kong go during Vijayadasami, (Dussehra at end of September into November). That time Chinese observe one month vegetarian festival. They put a special flag on restaurants that serve only pure vegetarian food. This way you get to taste authentic Thai and Chinese food without the worry of non-veg in it. You will see this flag in all food courts and street restaurants. The flag looks like this: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9c/Thai_%22che%22_sign.jpg Also, there are several Thai dishes that are vegetarian, like Som Tam, Pad Thai, or stir fried vegetables (Pad Phak Ruam). Just tell them "Mai Sai Nam Pla - No Fish Sauce".
