Susan sent us this comment: Sorry about the tofu comments... it is MY mistake... So, Yes my bad. Tofu is not fermented soy, but it is still a great Plant base protein that goes delish with this recipe. Tempeh is made from fermented soybeans. Nutritionally, tofu and tempeh carry very similar nutrient profiles, and either would make a beneficial addition to a healthy diet. Tofu is a great source of protein and Tempeh also great for your gut. Enjoy the recipe 😊

Tofu is not fermented food. Tempeh is.

Roads To Bliss In general, Tempeh & tofu are good substitute as a vegetarian food source. However their nutrient profiles including protein, carbohydrates, fibre can vary significantly depending upon the brand since their processing methods differ. So the consumer needs to read the Nutrition Facts Table to see the nutritional content of the product.

Tofu is a highly processed food and is not fermented. She might be an okay cook but she is not a nutritionist.
