Asian #houbara nest in the Kyzylkum desert, concealing their nests in short shrubs. Our study found that vegetation height has an important role in nest site selection but that there is a trade-off between concealment and ability to see approaching danger. Vegetation height influenced nest success; increased shrub height reduced predation with the optimal nest vegetation height being approximately 30cm.
