Veil of Maya’s drummer played with my band last year when we were covering this song and it was one of the coolest experiences i’ve ever had the tremendous pleasure of having. This song, this album, and this band rocks!
These guys got more melodic. I love the new Veil of Maya. Lukas has brought out the parts of Veil that redefined their sound. It has more variation instead of just plain screams and growls through the songs. The cleans make it better. It adds variation. Disagree with me if you want. I'm an open minded person unlike most people.

***** This song is great. It did get more melodic, and more in 4/4 lol unlike all of their previous work. Not much of it was in 4/4. I don't like the poppy chorus's. Which is okay I guess. They are obviously pandering to other audiences. I like more progressive music. That's just me. But I really really enjoy this song.
Dock Ness Don't get me wrong, their new material is awesome. But, in my own opinion, I actually think its a little lighter than what they've done in the past. Don't get me wrong, I like their new stuff, but I think Lukas's true strength is with his screams. I mean look at Phoenix, Teleute and Mikasa. Those were probably their more darker songs with Lukas and he handled those flawlessly. When I heard Teleute, that likely had to be the darkest song on the album. But I am wondering if their next album might be much more darker and maybe more intense. I like what they have going here, but I want to see if they can make a darker album with Lukas's screams.

Showed my buddy this album when he was just getting into metal and two months later he gave me a huge flag w/ the Matriarch album art on a huge flag signed by the entire band. Just know years from release this album is considered a milestone.

i was really salty when brandon left and they got a new vocalist with cleans... i was a little bitch about the whole thing and refused to give it a chance and now that i did its actually good. i enjoy this album a lot, also just saw them live in Orlando and the whole band including the vocalist were great.
I don't give a damn what any of you say, this song is amazing as hell! Fuck yeah, VOM, show 'em who isn't stuck in a artistic rut, like most other bands. Love this shit!
I am not complaining. I have listened to these guys for a really long time. So what, clean vocals made a debut in this album, at least they don't sound horrible. If you don't like the band anymore just because they added a few things in (they have to get payed and more people are liking cleans) then hit the "X", close your browser and never mention them again. Simple, yet, effective. Good job on the album guys!
Probably my favorite song of the album. I'll have to listen many many more times which I will do happily, but for now this is the most pleasing to the ear. Awesome stuff, Veil.
Marc Dunn you have no logic in your comment lol. After he left they created this new sound. Obviously THEY are happy with it because they put out the album. Honestly this album is great in my opinion. There are other djent deathcore bands you can listen to I'm sure and enjoy your life instead of bashing on this masterpiece of an album.
First time listening to these guys. All I can say is, this album seems to have a lot more.... well, it seems like they focused on making something beautiful, rather than just appealing. I might pick up this album.
You people do realize good and bad music is actually not a matter of opinion, right? Whether you like the singing or not, it's still good. How? Because the melodic and rhythmic patterns he uses along with such technical instrumentals are very intricate. It takes a very intellectual person to do something like that, yet you ignorant people think you're so damn high up on a pedestal that you're in the right to approve/disapprove of this music. But you aren't. The sooner you all realize that your opinions don't fall under the music category, the sooner your heads will come out of your asses. Love old veil of Maya and wasn't sure about it when Brandon left but this is amazing . They truly evolved and there is no way Brandon could of pulled this record off .

I'd take Veil over Erra any day, and Volumes are goofy AF, but damn put periphery on Veil's upcoming tour (and boot oceano and gift giver) and that would be insane. Entheos, Veil of Maya, Revocation, and Periphery (in that order) would be a mind blowing concert, dayum.
The evolution from TCMC to Eclipse seemed natural and I could dig all of those records (With a preference for TCMC). Matriarch sounds like a totally different band. Can't even bring myself to download the torrent. That said, I appreciate all the inspiration they've given me over the years, and wish them nothing but the best. Ill never forget the first time hearing TCMC or the sick ass riffs from ID. Cheers.

Was a great twist to add a singer to the band or have someone in the band just start singing! Loved old vom but this is a great transition and still has there amazimg guitar work going!
