I like it. I use it with Stasis and Collective Action only cuz I can keep the buff up 98% of the time. I'm looking forward to your review on the new Strand Liner Fusion Rifle, Scintillation.
Shoot to Loot's pickup effect on Orbs is even more important than picking up ammo bricks imo (cos of all the armor builds that leverage orbs), especially in high difficulty content where wandering out into the open in heavy combat can be dangerous. And the pools triggering the pickup effect is pretty cool for this.
I did a ton of testing and I don't think its the pool that picks it up. Ive seen bricks spawn on an enemy that died to the pool but the pool didnt pick it up. Rather when the origin trait procs it does a mini elemental explosion first then drops the pool. That explosion is what seems to pick it up.
While the 900rpm auto rifle archetype died after D1, this is the closest aesthetically you’ll probably get to a Atheons Epilogue which didn’t make it with the return of VOG. The structure appears like a more polished and progressed Vex construction of the Epilogue’s design. I love its sound/ design and glad to see we got a 720rpm Stasis auto finally. Only downside is how tall this weapon sits on the screen, reminds me of Omolon Scout rifle like Jury or Taraxipos.
I absolutely love this rifle. I know, Krait, blah, blah, blah, etc. But, I have a headstone/strategist roll and a fragile focus/desperate measures. Both are amazing. It reminds me of syncopation: a whole that's far greater than the sum of its parts.
@@CerberusPlusOne Exact my thoughts and feelings as well. More power to the people that do, but I just can't get into it. Wanted to like it, but just couldn't.
@@CerberusPlusOne Yeah, I hadn't considered it until you mentioned it, but Krait feels tough to keep on target, even with 70+ stability. Veiled Threats feels like it's on a rope.
I'm with you on it's look and then some. I have never had a weapon be so visually frustrating, feel like a peashooter and absolutely should hate it, yet I love it
I won't lie I kinda wrote this thing off since I felt like it was a worse version of Krait which has better stats all around and better access to some general perks you'd want to see on a primary, but it's nice to see there's at least some unique value here because of the origin trait and the interactions it creates with perks like Shoot to Loot as you showed.
I think I might craft strategist + collective action to go with the Ballidorse and shard rework. Rift spam = max frost armor. Collecting shards will give damage. Need to think more on if collective action would be better than headstone.
I crafted mine with Strategist and Collective Action for a Vesper of Radius/Frostpulse Warlock build. Perfect synergy. Stasis plus Arc, Rift energy on kills, shards grant damage (plus the health, melee, and damage resist they normally do), add the artifact perk and duskfield grenades to chain slow/freeze and create more shards... Very fun.
I really like how you are breaking down the different weapon rolls and explain the how and why. But in the end every Review is the same. Range, range, range and even more range
Has no one tried "gutshot straight" and "to the pain" on this gun for crucible. It's really underrated. Enhanced gutshot lessens the aim assist penalty while to the pain doubles down on aim assist especially in a duel. People get caught off guard when they die to this weapon.
Thanks for the vid! I was really hoping the interactions with shoot to loot would work. I was looking for a good non-kinetic primary with shoot to loot to pair with buried bloodline.
Now that we can enhance perks on virtually all weapons, I wish we could get an answer from Merc on why we cant level up Crafted Weapons to have multiple perks in each column-if I remember correctly, it was Chris Proctor who mentioned that was the limitation when crafting was implemented
I think it had to do with the perk budget of weapons. Something with how crafted weapons are built lowers the perk budget so having a 2nd row perks in columns 3 and 4 just wasn't possible.
crafted this for pve Arrowhead / Accurized / StL / Headstone and went with a counter balance...the 90 recoil direction felt a tiny bit better than 75 at longer ranges. just stayed on crit a little better - on m&k Used a lot of variations and CB mod felt terrible without arrowhead so yeah hard avoid 60 and 70 recoil direciton. but 90 is pretty good.
I like the way the gun feels and shoots pretty smooth for a such a high fire rate but my only gripe with it is that the weapon model is so huge on the screen. Idk maybe they just need to make the scope smaller or something cuz it’s a chunky boy for sure lol
Those Vex scopes may be big - it's true - but they are also Dad scopes, boy I tell ya. Very helpful seeing Guardians. I love the scout rifle, that scope makes all the difference over iron sites.
Love the sound and look of this gun but if you want a better 720 for PvP, Chroma Rush has a higher base AA of 80 and can get Moving Target/Heating Up/ Tunnel Vision/ DSR in the 3rd column and Kill Clip/TTT/ Rampage in the 4th column. Edit: Good luck farming it though, it drops in Dares of Eternity on a certain weekly rotation. OR you can get really lucky and find one sold by Banshee or Xur. With Xur’s update you can hand in Strange Coins for weapon engrams and get super lucky.
really cool design, really cool aesthetic, but man that model is GARGANTUAN, way too big and too obtrusive, i wanted to like this thing but the chunkyness just kills it entirely for me.
I think gutshot straight is pretty underrated on a weapon like this. With fragile focus active, range masterwork, accurized, and small bore, you reduce the body shot ttk to 1.17s while pushing the damage fall off to 32m. So you end up with the forgiveness of adept Immortal with target lock but at 10 meters further out.
Probably a pass for me unfortunately since I've been wanting a new 720. Nothing too crazy unless maybe Strategist and Headstone; for my Hoarfrost and Icefall Mantle
I can't stand the size of the scope on this. Looks like jt was made by someone drawing a gun from memory. WAY too big and it's an auto rifle too, shouldn't even have a scope. Takes up half the screen lol
I knew when I saw how awful and huge it looks that there would be some good stats. Classic trade-off. It’s very stable and has big aim assist and range so you lose some field of view. If you’re very spatially aware it will make a great hipster gun. The kinda gun that feels cool to win with but if you lose you might feel like you’ve got an excuse🤓
I keep going back and forth with this weapon on if I like it or not. I find it to be a really interesting weapon but the model is just so comically large. Might just be a pve work horse and the occasional goof around gun in pvp for me.
Fragile/Desperate measures with small bore/accurized is def the play for PVP. Fragile really helps you get the jump on all the pulses roaming around and DM helps you hose down back to back targets with the big mag while extending your falloff. Imo it wouldve been the best feeling 720 BUT the scope is a deal breaker.
I really like the Moving Target+Threat Detector vibe for moment to moment gameplay. The scope really needs some Bungie intervention though if they want players to actually use this thing; unless I'm using a BFG my weapon shouldn't take up 1/3rd of the screen at 105 fov.
Still no explosive round on autos ... Its a feel-good perk and is 15%+ on body, 12% on heads There's basically no add clear added into the perk because the range is so low... So why is it only on 1 exotic? STL and explosive rounds is great, just a shame its only on scouts
The Solar 120rpm scout rifle also has the same interaction with shoot to loot (although that is competition with other perks like heal clip), but the more important interaction with the weapon is that the vex milk pools, should they get a kill, trigger incandescent, so you can get an interaction somewhat like Tyranny of Heaven, but with a different third column choice. I am aware that Tyranny is far more consistent, it’s just something I wanted to note.
I really liked this weapon in pve and you went the exact same roll that I did as well! Actually discovered the interaction from a random drop and I knew this is what I wanted. Great review! Hope this helps the algorithm.
You brought up a lot I hadnt considered with this guy, but I am right there with ya. That scope is atrocious! I want to love this gun, i do, but i just cant with that scope. It makes me feel like I am peeking over a table the entire time I have it on and it just kills the vibe.
It's not everyone's cup of tea but if you change your gameplay setting of crosshair positioning to below center the gun model will be put slightly lower. Been running it since the start of d2 as I find most guns clutter the screen a little too much. This especially one extra chunky guns!
Headstone did NOT work with shoot to loot before. Bungie must have stealth changed that interaction. A season or two ago I had tested raconteur with the same roll which did not work from any of my testing
It's an interaction I have been following. I put the note in post edit bc in editng i saw it happen at times. That said, that *may* be just a part of the origin trait making it work? Regardless, the pools are awesome for it.
If Bungie releases an ornament for this gun that makes the scope smaller there will be a very legitimate argument for it being pay to win with just how ludicrously obstructive the base scope is.
Honestly I'm excited to hear about the scout, I fell in love with it immediately just for being a proper solar lever-action to complete the cowboy build on my hunter
Had the same thought, first of the set I unlocked for crafting. I'm enjoying it, but I'm definitely sad it doesn't have subsistence. I got a dragonfly subsistence roll on long arm from the dungeon, and I was hoping desperately for incandescent and subsistence to be on the new one but no such luck lol
@@runningsolojr I want to use it on DMT but I just tried it out and IDK if its some spaghetti code iron banner shenanigans but my shoot to loot aint looting shit
Crystal explosions count as what made them, but do not count as that thing hitting. Example, grenade detonation crystals get grenade kills but won't give extra osmiomancy energy because the actual grenade hitting is not the same as the grenade detonating.
@@zekerdeath the hard mode of the seasonal activity it's Match Made and easy AF. Complete the objectives fast enough and you get 3 chests and can dunk materials you collect in the trash can for more loot. I am at fail safes 3rd reset of that helps with how long it took me.
I actually plan to do a HC + inc tier list. Since the combo was first introduced I have used and loved it We have a ton now and think it's worth it to cover the differences.
@@Jc-go3mzhard disagree. Incandescent can soften up targets for those high-damage crits so you can start chaining one-shots, and the way the reload works on these lever action scouts you can proc heal clip super fast.
