"Compromising design for social responsibility" is where so many companies are. And not to their fault! Vegan products have been developing quickly now, and I hope more companies realize they will not lose their "luxury" customer base because they will sell vegan products! I love my VEJA 10's, thank you for the recommendation and history behind the brand!! I've been wearing them almost every day, everywhere, and for someone like me, it's a miracle that I can walk around in them but also still look fashionable! I've never been able to wear any shoes other than proper fully supported Asics, so I'm super happy to have found some ethical, vegan shoes that are ALSO stylish!!

Hi, thanks for this video, it is very informative. I have been interested in buying some Veja sneakers for a while now, however I have always stopped at the last minute because I prefer buying from fully vegan brands. I find it very interesting that the brand markets themselves as very sustainable and eco-friendly, however the fact that they still use leather seems odd to me. The leather industry is not a by-product of the meat industry as often thought, it is an equally profitable industry in its own right. Extensive rearing of livestock has severe environmental impacts such as deforestation, water and land overuse, and methane gas emissions. So I think it is rather disingenuous for them to claim to be very sustainable when they still use leather. And of course I haven't even began to discuss the animal welfare issues of the animals killed. I understand that PVC and PU alternatives aren't the best option, however I would love to see Veja moving towards using environmentally friendly leather alternatives (however I do know that many of these are in the early development stage). The brand video on their website states "producing sneakers that do respect the environment", however, this cannot be achieved as long as they are still using leather. Plus, what about respect for the animals?

Apologies if I missed it in the video but did you find the shoes breathable? I was curious if the coating on the cotton would impair breathability. Thank you!

I love the design of these shoes so much and they are so comfy! However I've had bad luck with the quality of mine, bought them in November last year and I wore them a little bit then, then I switched to my winter shoes and started wearing them in spring again. But in these about 8 months they started to break down a little bit. As you mentioned the crease on the front of the shoe that develops with walking, in that place mine started to kind of peel and separate, so there's a little hole in the leather on both sides. I don't know if it's an issue of the design of the v-10, but it did make me a little sad. I will still wear them though and when they break down I'm thinking of repurchasing them in a different design and I'll see if that works out better.

Do u think it is comfy to walk whole day? Just thinking to get one to travel this summer 😇
