Velankanni is situated in Nagapattinam District, Tamilnadu, This lies on the east coast of the Bay of Bengal. It has one of the very famous and old catholic churches in India called the Velankanni Shrine Basilica. Mother Mary saved the Portuguese sailor from the storm during the year of 16th century. There were three other Miracles that happened around the same time. It was a small chapel during the time it was built. It was announced as a Basilica in the year of 1962.

It used to be horrible when we used to visit in the early 2000s with ultra thick dosai. This was the condition even in the 90s. Only Pongal was too be good too much of wastage. We have to learn for the Hindu temple management such as Golden Temple how they provide free food in large quantities with quality. Chnadra Hotel has nuce fish curry. Do not stay at Dravida they are robbers try other local restaurants.

There are two church canteens one is opposite to the main basilica which you can see in this video and the second church canteen is opposite to Morning Star church near Peter’s Inn quarters. @Mallu_Geek After moving a bit away from your sarcastic comment I would like to highlight that the food here was good and the best part is that they had an option for Vegetarians as well as Non Vegetarians. So anyone visiting the holy shrine in Velankanni and eating the food here will certainly feel blessed and I felt the same 😊🙏

@gregoryantony7491 There are many small street vendors who are selling street food at Velankanni and earning a living for their family. If you are so concerned about the hygiene factors then you yourself should go to velankanni and take the initiative to make it a better place. It’s very easy to sit at a convenient spot and randomly comment or point fingers towards others that something is wrong. Do what you can to make it a better place All the Best 😊🙏

@foodventuresfolks7278, what you are saying I think you are new to this place, are you working in municipal Corporation so you gave license for people to sit out side with a cylinder, previous people have left after tstusami and they used to cook with kerosene stoves on the beach and they were poor there are many changes happened, people come to worship here in velankanni church not to eat, understood & dont try to teach me this is RU-vid any one can express their veiws, who the hell told you to reply to me

However please note this is my RU-vid Channel and I have all the rights to reply to each and everyone one who is posting a comment. I’m sure you have liked the video hence you have written to me again. I have a very high esteem for everyone who writes to me on RU-vid and I value their time. Moreover everyone is free to express their thoughts and I respect that however I see that you have commented on my earlier videos as well with very impertinent comments. This shows that you’re doing it deliberately. If you don’t know how to respond to others politely via comments then you should stop commenting as you don’t even have the courage to face a comment. People from all over the world come and visit this holy Shrine so the next time if you visit Velankanni & if the place is dirty instead of criticising please get it to the notice of the concerned authorities so that cleanliness is maintained and hygiene parameters are kept in check. @barbieajay7373 I only wish you had some brains to utilize it for a good cause and improve your commenting capabilities by spreading some positivity and love for people around you. First of all read & understand the meaning of the word scam before placing it in the comments on RU-vid so that you get well educated. Secondly having hotel food is people’s own choice and people would visit the hotel’s at Velankanni as they offer good food and are serving people coming from long destinations. Even small vendors selling street food are there to support and give food to those in need. I would suggest you should first get your mind tested because if it’s exhausted it would only spread bad rumours and negativity around all your loved ones. I pray that Velankanni Mother showers blessings on you and you get well soon 😊🙏

Only விளம்பரம் தான். But worst canteen. Church உணவகம் என்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள் ஆனால் மக்களுக்காக விலையை குறைக்கலாம். ஆனால் அதுலயும் business. So churchஉணவகம் என்று சொல்ல வேண்டாம். வேற பெயர் வைத்து வழக்கம் போல நல்லா கொள்ளையடீங்க.
