Iai spirit slash when used in harvest moon seems to drain the frost gauge quite rapidly because it lands multiple hits. It charges pretty fast when you’re in special sheathe but I don’t think it’s going to be as good as it was in Iceborne unless you use sacred sheathe. Your attack rate with longsword is just so high that you would have to deliberately gimp your attack rate in order to reap the benefits of frostcraft, so if you’re waiting around for the frost gauge to charge it might actually be a net dps loss. but it looks like it’ll be really good for sacred sheathe

Fyi sakura slash works with frostcraft focus 3 because build up start right at the sheathing animation at the end. The build up will negate out the entire cost and will not even cost half of 1 charge

Critical Draw also works on LS especially when using sacred sheathe combo and the Iai sheathe becuase they are counted as (sheathed)

I tried a similar build with the same kushala parts and wasn't impressed. It lowered my raw damage but brought it up a little with the frostcraft multiplier. However I lost my constant healing from kushala. Not as comfortable for me.

I got 3 Crystals in my first Velkhana hunt lol. Now I'm just wondering what's the best thing to use them for. I want to make a frostblight build but I'm awful at midmax

Would produce much better result in damage if you are using Fire Element LS, also try Mail of Hellfire if you are confident in your countering abilities.

Just one question, isnt the wind mantle a little opposite as to how the builds keep drawing/sheating?

I honestly think they didn't redesign Velkhana with Rise Iai in mind. In World, it didn't matter because we primarily used Foresight instead anyway.

I think the play would’ve been to use sacred sheathed with punishing draw and with frost craft

I think Frostcraft would make more sense with sacred sheathe, curious to see how it plays

how is the full 3 hit sacred combo tho does it hit harder or u lose all the frostcraft cuz its 3 hits

The problem for me is Velkhana just too big for my screen, first time encountering it I can't see the movement very well because my visual is blocked lol. I think I will watch other hunters fight her first
