Vellode contains more lead than bronze, acidic food mostly acetic acid will form lead acetate, as it is soluble in water the food will get contaminated.

True ,pure vellodu leach lead into food . I think custom made pure bronze with 78% copper and 22% copper using pure ingots/nuggets is the best. Don’t buy regular bronze uruli as they use scrap metals mostly contaminated to make it . If I have to make it I would personally buy the metals in pure form, weigh it correctly for the combination. Also I would request for machine polish as today’s hand polish is not up to mark. Why not use technology when it is for positive results?
