Want an amazing 1 page image, but it doesn't work without how Vellum does their headers? Let me show you an amazing workaround that will allow you to insert your own script and header by using different methods. This cannot be done without the workaround.

This is a newbie question but did you make the rose image in canva? or was did you purchase it somewhere?

This is an early one that I did do in canva! I uploaded a whole image, removed the background, restores the background above line 😂 an arduous process. Now I use procreate on my iPad. It’s only about $10

@@tealrose9365 for basic stuff like font texturing and doing something like this, it’s not all too hard luckily. I watched a few RU-vid videos. Its way easier than adobe 😂😂

The video is a year old, but I hope you might see my question. I used your instructions to create a two-page spread, but in my case, the artwork is full bleed on all sides. I'm running into an issue with the spacer images used to push down the chapter text. I did the spacer as you said, leaving it white, putting a word on it also in white, making it completely transparent, and downloading with no background. When I add the actual chapter header graphic, the spacer image in the background still shows through like an artifact. I've tried making the header image both with and without background. I've updated the visibility within Vellum to 100%. I don't know what else I might be able to do to keep those spacer artifacts from showing through. The header image is monotone and I used the magic eraser tool to soften some of the image where the chapter text is to make it easier to read. Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Gail! Are you just seeing the outline of the box when you look at it in PDF form or on Vellum? If that is the case, those will not show up when you upload to KDP. You won't see them on the upload either. I have tested this many times and have ensured it does not show. It's just a weird artifact and funnily enough, doesn't show up every time either.

@@romantikadesigns I see it when I create the PDF from Vellum, but not in Vellum. So it's one of those things to give you stress, but not really stressful at all? LOL Thank you

Gail, I had this same issue, and it took me watching the video again to note that the creator saved the 4x1 box that is the spacer as a png file rather than a pdf. As soon as you do that it will be invisible!

My print is 5.25x8, and my bleed has a sliver where the picture didn't reach the edge of the page. Do you know what the dimensions would be for my size of book?

Is the sliver just showing up in vellum? Or when you preview it as well?

Is it just a small sliver that’s barely noticeable on the right hand side? That’s just showing where the spine is and has nothing to do with the picture not fitting :) if it’s more noticeable than just that white sliver I would increase size to 1612x2596 pixels. @@jomccall5546 The sliver only showed up in my printed proof copy, but on the first few chapters there isn't a sliver at the bottom of the page and then it gets bigger going toward the top of the page. Its on all outer edges of the page bleeds. I resized my bleed and reuploaded and I'm not seeing any issues, so I guess we'll see in the next proof. Thank you so much for replying!

@@Epixx13 Of course. if it happens in the next proof, it is most likely the printing. I have to return several books to Amazon every time I order author copies because of this issue which is why I started printing author copies through barnes and nobles.
