These velocity aircraft are absolutely astonishing. I get freakin goosebumps looking at it. Those air intakes on the sides and roof of the back fuselage are sick too.
The single engine is really impressive. The vtwin is really cool, but the cost of owning dual engine aircraft is obscene, I already went through it. The only one I would own right bow is a Beechcraft Baron P. (If I could afford to own one). I love that plane. Ive always wanted a pressurized cockpit for high altitude cruising. But.... My wife wants a Velocity Vtwin, so it may not be up to me
@@stonehorn4641 it’s funny you say that about twin engine aircraft and the Baron. It is also one of my favorite twin engine small planes of all time. Imo It is one of the few elite in the light twin engine class of aircraft. I do believe the King air is one of the best twin engine in the turboprop class as well. My fav king air is the C90 and my fav Baron is the B58.
@Velocity Aircraft I so enjoy watching you fly over. I am just north of X59 toward the abandoned (now transmitter annex) and love seeing you out there. One day I will build one.
I remember a Rutan designed VariEze canard tandem two seater of the 1970's. I knew of one owner at New Haven back in the day. We both worked at Yale. It was a tricycle gear; two fixed with hand crank retracting nose. I recall his retracting the nose gear to set the nose down on the ground when parked. This is a much lager plane but I loved the canard design then and love it now.
Sorry to be offtopic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
He took off only four mins after starting the engine. Was the engine already warm or did I miss an editing cut? Cool looking aircraft. Thanks for posting
That was a very very hot, fast landing, does this aircraft not do well at slower landings, the past few videos I've seen of this design, everyone come in very hot?
Bonjour bravo bel oiseau, quelle est son autonomie et l'helice a t elle un pas variable ? Si oui peut il voler en marche arriere ? Hello, bravo beautiful bird, what is its autonomy and does the propeller have a variable pitch? If so, can it fly in reverse?
You sure 3 blades don't have enough force at altitude or is it more likely that the blades need to be shorter so you don't have a prop strike every time you take off/land
This is a kit airplane, right? Is it possible to build it as a pressurized plane? If so, is it possible to tell approximately how much more time / money would need to go into the necessary modifications? Thanks!
A pressurized plane has to be designed from scratch. It is a VERY complex thing. There are pressurized kit planes, like the Lancair IVP and the Evolution aircraft. Most pressurized planes are turbo-props. One, Piper M500 is the sole piston single that is pressurized, it is not a kit.
@@gbigsangle3044 Thank you for your response! I already assumed that pressurization is a very complex requirement. But then, it is nice to have :) Here in Germany, there is a politician with yet unfulfilled ambitions to become chancellor, who identifies as from the "upper-middle class" income strata. Media say that he owns and flies two planes, one of them a Diamond DA 62, which he is presumed to have bought new (at around 1.2 million dollars). Now, that plane is not a kit and does not have pressurization. If you do get invited to fly in such a plane as a passenger, and it rises very high, you'll need to have oxygen tubes put in your nose. That's somewhat off-putting to people who otherwise travel in large planes built by Airbus or Boeing ....
@@axeletzold9406 Sure pressurization is better but it comes at a weight and development cost that the piston market won't pay for...that is why you only see it in the turbo-prop and jet markets. I fly a Cirrus SR22T and when I fly above 12,500 I wear a boom cannula. The plane has built-in oxygen supply that lasts for up to 80 hours flying time...so the burden is not that great to fly higher. Most of the time GA planes are flying at or below 12,500 btw.
stupid question time. I love fresh air and am wondering about air vents. Does this plane have any air vents and why do many small planes not have them?
People always point out the negative lmao it’s like you were looking for any little thing to comment. These are all custom built, the owner didn’t want throttles on both sides.. some do.
Was just a quick pre-flight to show the demo taker what we normally check. The airplane was pre-flighted, fueled before they arrived. Also this airplane is our demo plane, always in our hangar.. always taken very good care of.
I’ll be honest, seems like a cool little plane and I like the interiors but I’m not the biggest fan of the exterior design. My preferences lie with low winged aircraft that look more traditional. My favourite in small airplanes is the Cirrus SR-22.
Cabin engine noise is ridiculous, they spent a lot of time making everything look good but the sound deadening insulation is crappy. Firewall needs more insulation and the engine mounts are sending all that noise throughout the whole plane.
I'd venture to say it's on-par, if not quieter than 'factory' aircraft. The camera picks up voices pretty well which is more than can be said for a Cessna 182. Heck, my Glasair 1TD (four cylinder IO-360) is loud enough that my iPhone can hardly pick up distinguishable conversations.
WOW! an aircraft I was really interested in learning more about....... WOW! visually, aurally and informationally, hands down, second to none, the WORST aviation vid I have ever seen. Had to force myself to finish. Just no excuse for this level of ineptitude.
