There's a lot of talk about mental acuity in the 2024 presidential race. How old is "too old" to run for the highest office in the land? Donald Trump seems obsessed with proving he is more mentally fit than President Joe Biden. But in recent weeks Trump has been making more and more bizarre and confusing statements. And the odd rhetoric is now veering into more dangerous territory.

After a car accident I had a TBI. Part of my rehab for this injury was Chump's cognitive test. Most of the questions could be answered by a 10 year old. For example: "What city are we in?, Draw this clock so it says ten to eleven, What country do you live in?, What were those 5 words I gave you 30 seconds ago? Man, Crime, Trial, Sentence, Prison. He'll remember those words for sure...

Why do you assume the test you were given was the same as President Trump’s? There are many different tests given for various reasons and under a variety of circumstances. Your test was for a post-TBI patient. The test given to President Trump might share some components with your test, but it would be very different in most ways, because his test had a very different purpose.

Trump saying the horrific quiet parts out loud isn’t as scary as the droves of rabid cult members who cheer it on. My mother survived the Holocaust, escaping from a camp right before the allied liberation. Never in my worst nightmares did I ever imagine someone would be a candidate for President in the US, supported by millions, who would espouse so many similar ideals. As much as I miss my mother every day, I’m glad she’s not alive to see this and experience the terror it would fill her with all over again. I don’t care what side of the aisle you’re on, in 2024 we each need to be on the side of humanity. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

My father (who had severe dementia before he passed) could remember those in order too...he also packed suitcases full of shoes and a trailer hitch because he was taking a trip to see his mother who passed 18 years ago. He also thought he was back in Korea whenever it saw it on TV and wanted to know where his sidearm and footlocker went. So yeah, it's not a good measure of...anything.
