After recording this video I did dabble in Network Fusion but since I still never did it in the original Persona 5 I can't tell you how it differs. What I can tell you is that the process works like a normal fusion in which you are given a list of Persona you can create using your currently held Persona + a random one from the network. When actually fusing, you can choose which abilities you wish to bring over. There are some abilities that are only available through Network Fusion as well, such as Almighty Amp.
For each persona you have your given multiple network persona possibilities to fuse with, knowing the result beforehand. Can also get new results I think by going out and back into the Network fusion menu. Still once a day, but actually quite useful to use this time around. In vanilla p5 it was pretty much a meme since it was entirely random you just picked a persona to send and you had no clue what you would get and it seemed to usually be bad.
The network exclusive skills in P5 vanilla were Almighty boost, Almighty Amp, and magic ability, which would be a 25% increase on magic skills if not combined with boost (however if boost was used it would shrunken to a mere 7.5%, making a boost+amp+MA build do 82.5% more). Eventually when the Messiah DLC released his finally ability was Almighty boost, making it no longer fully exclusive to network. In royal, I believe the izanagi no okami DLC has amp as an ability, making MA the only network exclusive to my knowledge
@@double_process I went ahead and double-checked to be sure. Both Messiah and Messiah Picaro learn Almighty Boost but neither Izanagi-no-Okami or Izanagi-no-Okami Picaro learn Almighty Boost or Amp. They now have a unique damage amp skill that scales off of compendium completion rate but it can't be passed transferred to other Persona.

The second fusion you perform during the alert is a guaranteed accident unless you're fusing the result of the first fusion in which case the entire skillset of the resulting persona is replaced by a set of abilities that share the same theme.
I heavily appreciate the detail you put on these guides on our wait for royal. I must say. Some of these "personality traits" are REALLY good and broken though. I think Ishtar has a full heal and concentrate and Attis has full team heat riser. If there is anything i've missed, please do tell me.
Thnx for the video. This is sure to make min-maxing ultimate personas a little easier! But, on another note......the little animations they have for the twins! Instead of just standing there, they're exercising with each other! I don't even know how to feel about that! XD
That happened to me with a few personas. They just have dodge everything. Twice I’ve gotten it to where it’s just all elements boost. But because of that there’s no skills
One major change you've unfortunately missed, is that itemizing items are no longer limited to once a day; you can now electrocute your personas to death for items as many times as you have transmutable material for on any day starting when you unlock the ability!
Fusion alerts allows you to use all empty ability slots Me: Yay!!!!! Fusion alerts also allow for extra stats to be gained for personas Me (fledgling min-maxer): Oh dear god no!!!!
Once again, A+ video, the fusion alerts are definitely something I will need to experiment with (although I doubt it will be possible to turn Makarakarn into Victory Cry like in P4 :P). I just wish they decided to link that ability with someone else besides Chihaya, who already has a ton of useful abilities.
Well I don't know if you know her new ranks but it was said in the first general videos that all confidants were reworked to balance things better so I would expect the less useful confidant to have more things going for them while the most op ones are more focused on one thing.
Network fusion is greatly improved it used to be send any persona to get any random persona Network fusion royal you pick a persona and it gives you a list of persona and what they will turn into while also transferring over some powerful abilities like magic boost and almighty amp
Love your videos as always. Thanks for explaining without spoilers you're the best! I'm really eager to see the video on changes to Personas. On that topic I'm particularly curious about abilities but also how balance has been done and if new type of skills have been added such as physical elemental attacks like Persona Q use. I always found that the Persona spin-off tend to have few skills in total it's a lot of the same but just stronger versions of the previous ones so I hope that royal is slightly more varied and gives more depth to the system.
I'm actually planning a video that will go over the largest change to Persona, the Persona trait system, as well as a brief overview of what to expect balancing-wise in a future video.
One thing i liked which I don't think? was in the original is the ability to use yen to do the 3+ fusions. Let's you use yen to pull them out of your compendium as you summon without needing them physically summoned. saved me some stress quite a few times lol

I'm liking this all-risk-all-reward type take for Fusion Alerts. I thought it was just gonna be a semi-random buff state for fusing, but I'm so more satisfied with it being a semi-random risk taking event.
Do you have any info on the dlc on release on the western version? I looked online but couldn't find anything solid. From what I gather all the P5 dlc is included in the game. Kasumi costumes are dlc packs and there's a new pack for strange journey costume for the entire party? And the challenge battles? I'm just curious of how much money I'll end up throwing at my screen again, because it was super pricy for the base game already.
I'm just getting the Ultimate Edition. It's $99, but it includes all the DLC (don't know if the DLC for the base game is counted in that, I think I've heard that Royal only includes the Vanilla DLC if you've already bought it. I really just want the Royal Personas and Featherman costumes, I already have all the vanilla DLC Personas)
It would really make my day if someone made a guide for getting all the Personas. Like "Get all these Persona by defeating Shadows and then do all of these Fusions to fill out the rest of the Compendium".
There are so many ways to get most of the Persona that instead of a guide you're better off just using a fusion calculator. I posted on in the description of my video covering how I make powerful Persona. That being said, you can fuse the entire compendium except for treasure demons with only Arsene and Pixie, both of which the game gives you. In my most recent run I did exactly that.
What pay DLC will be good to do those challenges? I play the original P5 with more than 300+ hours of playing time. Now that I have just started to play P5R, the steelbook launch version, which came with lots of DLCs, I wonder if there is any DLC to buy which helps with challenges. Thank you for all your videos.
All DLC Persona except Izanagi-no-Okami are added to the fusion pool and thus remove possible combinations from other Persona, as those combinations end up fusion a DLC Persona instead.
@@Thebizkit123 to add, i've been playing through the game with all the dlc on. i am 75% persona completion approaching the final palace (non royal content) and i can say that having the dlc on really does hurt you more then it helps. I didn't notice early on when fusing but as i try to make things in the lvl 50-90 range it got very annoying and hard. I spent a lot of time trying to make Alice because it felt like all the "easy" ways to get the personas i need towards her were all replace with fusions for DLC personas instead. This also means that sometimes to get to a persona you want, your forced to use a dlc persona in the fusion which didn't bother me to much as long as i had made the persona myself but i can see it being very annoying to some. Also some personas dont get unlocked until the post-normal persona 5 story, and those persona will slow down progression as well until you can start fusing them. Using fusion calculator with dlc and royal post game personas, i was finding alot of persona went from 20+ ways that were very variety to 1-5 super annoying ways.

I noticed in the video at the time you had nearly 100 skill cards. Are they considerably easier to obtain in royal? I'm guessing the items mementos upgrade helps a lot with it as well?
I have a question: if a persona has 99 stat on one attribute, that attribute can further be increased with an equipable item? If not, that means that all the items that give joker stats are useless in a scenario where I've maxed out the stats of my persona(s), is this correct?
Is the difficulty any harder in Royal. I absolutely loved P3 fes my first persona game and really liked 4. Atlus has since become my all time fav developer. I didn’t finish P5 though as I got bored with the difficulty and I really missed the darker atmosphere as opposed to 5s kinda K-pop deal.
P5R is just as easy as P3 and P4 so if you found the original easy as well then this will be too. It does, however, have Merciful which is a difficulty you can actually die on even after the first couple of dungeons.
Do all of the characters' ultimate weapons get boosted and treasure demon accessories? Also how to you increase Joker and Morgan's baton pass (unless Morgana can play darts it should be different)? Finally do you have to hang out with Morgana to get his 3rd tier persona or is it automatic like the rest of his confidant? Sorry to ask so much, I am so excited that I couldn't stop myself from wondering.
Pretty much everything you can turn a Persona into will have a better version under Fusion Alert, including ultimate weapons/guns. I did a video covering exactly how to unlock Baton Pass; every body is the same as that. Morgana's 3rd tier awakening is automatic.

Is Royal about the same length as the original even with the added trimester since it kind of cuts the fat in other areas or is it actually a longer game? The base game took me exactly 99 hours for reference
This might be a difficult question to answer, but is it easier or more difficult to do a max Confidant (and most trophies) run in Persona 5 Royal? I put a lot of time into writing out a schedule for vanilla P5, and will most likely do it again for Royal, unless it's just super easy to do everything now lol.
Uh yes and no. You have more overall time due to the extended game but some confidants have more restricted schedules and there are technically 3 new ones. As for trophies, the PSN trophy list is different but there is a new ACP feature called My Palace which will take a long time to complete.
With all these new features, is this game now too easy? Hard isn't very difficult to begin with, and Merciless isn't really harder to hard, it's just a completely different kind of challenge.
Jamison Danuilettõ I’m going to guess you’re talking about network fusion. I don’t know exactly how it works but you choose one Persona and I’m pretty sure it fuses it with another persona that someone else choose so you have no idea what it will become.
Pretty sure they don't. Nothing ever takes time in the velvet room and battles don't take time either. The question is more is it possible to do challenge battles by entering the velvet room during daytime. But I guess yes as well.
@@sombrego2260 You mean during night time? And the challenge battles could be something you have to access through mementos, even though it takes place in the velvet room: like the velvet twin fights. This would prevent players from doing these battles at night which doesn't make sense contextually (as your party members wouldn't be with you at night)
@@jsrhedgehog9981 You access them by talking to twins while in the velvet room and does not use time, tbh i have no clue if you can do them at night or what since i only did the first one and stopped since the good ones I knew where locked behind DLC
Atlus needs to fuckin chill with paid DLC. Sick of it since they started it for first SMT4 game. Persona Dancing games it gotten even worse smh. I fear how P6 & SMT5 will be ugh
