The Republic Star Destroyer was a type of cruiser-classed Star Destroyer. Beyond their status as cruisers, specifically attack cruisers, Venators were classified as battleships and destroyers. Designed by Lira Wessex, it cost 59,000,000 credits and was manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards for the naval operations of the Galactic Republic in the Clone Wars.
