I was 16 working on a youth opportunity scheme in Widnes Cemetery as a gravedigger and in love and now i'm 50 divorced going gray and getting fat listening to music with happy memories
I searched for yonks for it too, i ended up buying off amazon (i think, don't think it was itunes) do you remember their follow up single 'Could've done without it'? I used to hear both of these songs on Radio City back in the day :-)
I first heard this on a pirate radio station, i think it was 1985, they are American, am not to sure if they are still going thou. Ps the extended version is excellent.
I've already commented yonks ago, but thought I'd post again. I find it odd, really odd. This band must be Australian, gotta be, they are proud of the nation's musical roots, shown by the bass and percussion, even shades of a didgeridoo, and yet -- the underground popularity of this song is firmly found in Liverpool, particularly Radio City's overnight shows in the 1980s; John Jessop's in particularly. Go figure, as the yanks say. Where the hell did this band get to and where are they now?
Would love to see/hear the original version from 1983 of "Could have done without it" There are reworked versions on youtube from 2015 but not the one I'm looking for
I spent a lot of time trying to identify or authors of this song (shazam did not recognize it ...)...thank you! Do you have more information about this band???
