Because the Witcher, from what I understand (as a super-fan and veteran gamer of the games/reader of the books), embodies stories about all the things we as humans can’t stand to think about. Miscarriages, murder, brutality, theft, betrayal, adultery, deceit and the mental anguish following such situations. Emotions aren’t always fun. They want the music to get you emotionally vulnerable so maybe you’ll be reflective about the screwed up scenarios on screen, which often pertain to the story.
