Each venetian snares album feels completely different, which is why i associate each album with a color. Rossz Csillag Alatt Született is gray, Detrimentalist is green, My so called life is blue, hospitality is yellow, T.S.M. is purple, and cavalcade of glee and dadaist happy hardcore pompoms is maroon. those are all the albums ive listened to so far and they are all amazing.
I think Venetian Snares could well be my all time favourite artist. Nothing quite hits the spot for me like his music. It has that sense of mystery and surrealism i adore. Great to see someone do a react video on this.
I get it. It takes time to get into Breakcore and you should slowly ease into it, instead of jumping right into the deep end. And Venetian Snares is the DEEEEEEP end. ;) The usual way into Breakcore is more like Jungle -> Drum'n'Bass -> Bong-Ra -> Aphex Twin -> Squarepusher -> Venetian Snares. At that point, you should be acclimated enough. :P
@@gowsif_dnb Hmmm... Maybe it depends on where you come from, music-wise. If you come from the Electronica corner, DnB may be a good start. If you come from Rock/Alternative, Jungle may be more up your alley. And if you come from Raggae, you definitely have listened to a lot of Jungle already without realizing it. :P
The thing about Breakcore (Venetian Snares, Drumcorps/Aaron Spectre, Repeater, etc.) is, it is MEANT to be destructive, as opposed to Drill 'n' Bass (Aphex Twin, Square Pusher, Autechre, etc.), which may sound similar on the surface level, but puts more emphasis on structure. And you can hear it. Compare "Rubber Johnny" by Aphex Twin with "Candle" by Meander. I think the most accurate description of Breakcore would be "A beautiful mess of a sound collage with a little bit of cocaine".
If you like this I highly reccomend listening to Sevish. He's a microtonal drum and bass artist from the UK and his sound is incredibly unique and pretty damn trippy. I'd honestly kill to see you guys react to him.
If I hadn't discovered vsnares as a teenager I doubt I would listen to half the music I do now. This one of my personal favourite albums of all time. I'd say it's one of those pieces that gets better the more you hear it, when you know what's coming next, that anticipation is great. Whenever I revisit this it feels a lot like seeing an old friend.
@Justin :) Since you dig this stuff, you've probably listened to "Igorrr" right? It's a combination of breakcore, metal and classical music. Best song to get started imo is "Opus Brain" from the latest album. The music video is worth it too! It's art on it's own already :)
Good reaction, i used to listen to vsnares in my early 20s and loved it so much, next week i will be 40 and now his music hurts my brain, oh the joys of getting old
Well you tried breakcore, pretty unique right! But now you should try baroquecore: Igorrr - Tout petit moineau live dour 2014 It's metal, baroque and breakcore with, guess what, a beautiful angelic voice
I was confused for years on how to mix Venetian Snares into dnb sets. then I saw him live and realized if ALL your tunes are in 7/4 then it works fine lol. Very surprised they didn't clock the weird time sig, especially seeing as they are blatantly musically trained. I think that's a compliment to VN, because he makes it sound natural, unlike some other tunes in mad time sigs.
In 2001 Jeff Beck was experimenting with electronica style mixed with his own guitar styles. The album is ‘You Had It Coming’ . I know you probably wouldn’t review and react to it on this channel but do yourselves a favor and check out songs from that album “Roy’s Toy” “Dirty Mind” “Loose Cannon” 🤙🏼
integraation - this my top one! Its more dramatic and preternatural, its like diving into nothing and everything at the same time - eternally breaking heart sound
a friend of mine , exposed me to experience new music in this case breakcore not son long ago . Once you are here , you cant never go back IMO. I still search for new genres and music and let me prejudice apart. I still love Megadeth as my favorite band and the band that made me appreciate new music way back then. Yeah and also the andean music from where I am.
Venetian Snares are so good. I love IDM. To finish off the genre’s biggest players y’all definitely get some Squarepusher on the channel. Something off the Burningn’n Tree, “Central Line” is a great opening track for the album.
Remember when it was called IDM?! God I feel old. I miss this time. From Aaron to Knifehandchop, Cex, Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, and all the one’s I don’t want to type out.
Three huh. Anyway, the air drumming there for a while from the water drinking dude to the left take a lot of skills, you are awesome dude, a perfect 10!
Ok, you two, I have stumbled onto something I think BOTH of you would totally love. It's so different. How can I get you two to react to it.... soon? lol (No, it's NOT Home Free.)
Similar to Manny, I enjoyed the all the parts BUT the break-beat. Don't have many reference points that I can remember. The only one off the top of my head is the Samurai Champloo OST which I used to really like. At least a bit of that has break-beat.
Guys is 15 years old, try to judge a musician of such magnitude as Alfred Schnittke (in a sense). talking about music is the same as dancing about architecture. try to create same music. only one track. and relese it
@@humnhumnhumn yeah for real, its an extremely complex song, a lot going on, but if you listen surface level it will sound repetitive. shows a lack of musical integrity if you call it repetitive
