Hyden you keep saying they make money? Who are you talking about? The video game “athletes”? Those group of a very few people? I am commenting on the creator of this video, he’s out doing stuff, wild stuff that is very interesting. But the product sold to fund this (no knock against The PEOPLE they gotta get reimbursed for the costs to make these vids) the video games go to kids that all sit indoors these days and never venture out in the real world, they then perceive they have done things in the real world based on their screen time. When your world is all screen time and social media bubbles with like minded people the AI is feeding you stuff that makes many people crazy (without you realizing it) and thus the rise of flat earth, qanon, 5G, dews and all kinds of other crazy conspiracy stuff. The antidote to this is possibly going out and experiencing real life well out of your comfort zone, meeting people completely different than yourself, travel far away, something that video games will never offer. Live life!

As a Nigerian a country where electricity is unstable, I will say I am now grateful that we see electricity at all. People here has already got use to live with generators. Although there is improvements in some cities recently. That of Venezuela, I feel for them especially the children.

This is the Sweden/Norway model, where you have healthy citizens, healthy economy and great free education, and higher taxes. Venezuela got buggered because they are a single resource economy. That resource is Oil. so when oil dips the country falls behind on payments, when the oil returns have not been as predicted for the last 20 years and the dictator did nothing to reduce spending your country goes to pot. Funnily enough Donald trump has run the largest ever deficit between tax income and spending ever in US history. He has given massive tax breaks to many multinational countries and billionaires and multi millionaires, whilst continuing with Democratic levels of spending. Pretty sure Bernie is not the right answer for the USA but Trump is definitely the wrong answer.

The most impressive thing is how quickly became like this... I still remember the other venezuela: rich, educated, modern, peacefull, with social democracy which was very advanced by that time. Yes there were inequalities, but I remember a saying: Even the poorest has a TV, a sound system and food on their table... And it was true! I remember I had to go to a very poor neighborhood in maracaibo and there were tin houses, they all had Directv and AC units, crazy.

My wife is from Barranquilla, when we first started dating and would travel to Colombia to see her family, the people were slowly leaving Venezuela to Colombia at the border. Now her city is filled with Venezuelan's who are TRYING to make their life in Colombia. Good, humble people...so sad. We are friends with several here in the states, all professional (Atty, Doctor, Engineer's). and they are trying their best to make it here in the US but obviously anything is better than where they were.
