@@tripollogy6874 i think his mistake was hitting his blades cause whith weapon to weapon there's no telling who will suffer more damage furthermore i think tombstone needs a new design to b honest wheel protection would b 1 thing
That steel chair match was absolutely hilarious, and I enjoyed watching Riptide dominate their competition. The entire show was awesome! Thank you BattleBots for always delivering great content. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Well you've obviously been paid by Battlebots, as 90% of its audience would agree that the ENTIRE show was not awesome. It's just implausible to make an ENTIRE show awesome without scripting the fights.
That doesn't surprise me. I recall when watching mythbusters back in the day, that out of the 60 minutes, you might get 30 to 35 minutes of actual content. Between the ads and recaps, it became torturous to watch the episodes without first recording them and then FF'ing through the ads and recaps.
Rampage versus Mammoth was a lot of fun to watch, good work Rampage! P1 versus Lucky was quite a dance of death between two skilled drivers. The chair fight was hilarious, too. Great show!
@@RennieAsh I hadn't seen your comment, so I wrote the same thing. To add my thought, I was thinking well, the battle sorta looked like it was gonna be a tie.
I just don't see how a robot that can jump three feet has almost no damage from the fight still had a useable weapon and was moving (be it not super fast but it was moving) got the loss. That seemed like a trash decision.
*_SPOILERS BELOW_* Big Dill vs Blip: And Big Dill sticks the landing!!! Literally. Bloodsport vs Riptide: It’s great seeing two meaty weapons go at it. Huge vs Captain Shrederator: I don’t even know WHAT that config is for Captain Shrederator. Cobalt vs Pardon My French: Yeah just about the way you expect it to happen… Deadlift vs Pain Train: This was a proper performance from both teams. Deadlift finally did what it does! Lucky vs P1: Dang that was a pretty lucky flip from Lucky. Big Dill vs Overhaul: Uhhhh…. Rampage vs Mammoth: Happy Team Rampage finally gets a win in the sport. Valkyrie vs Blade: Why in these unaired bonus fights Valkyrie always looks like a fly? Riptide vs Jackpot: Hey we finally see that hit that was cut off!
Riptide is so OP, the chair fight was very silly, and shout out to Deadlift FINALLY getting a good fight and Rampage for getting its first win ever! Can't wait for Season VII!
egg beaters on the lower scaled bots are very overused , it seems to be throwing enemies high up and save weight .. seems to be a very meta weapon overall
@@BattlePark92 Yeah, there's a lot of really unfortunate rejections this year. I think they slashed their international budget or something in order to afford more filming hours and pay their builders.
So thankful for this video!!! Thank you, Battlebots, for posting this. Yes, the chair fight was silly, but it was also fun. 🙂 It was interesting to hear the fights without all the crowd noise "sweetening." At first it seemed a little smaller but pretty quickly it gave me more of a "you are there" feeling that I really liked. As cool as it was, it also reminded me how much I love Chris, Kenny, Pete, and Faruq. Their guidance through these battles is deeply appreciated! BOTTOM LINE: I love the TV show, but I loved this video, too. More, more, more!!!
I like how many of the bots have something on their underside. It's like an easter egg! Mammoth with "anything but the batteries," Jackpot with "oh heck." but my favorite has to be Big Dill saying "I'm in a pickle" what can I say I love puns lol
Excellent video....no wasted time, no mindless announcers, no filler. Just battle after battle and crowd reaction. Great editing. I wish all videos were this concise and entertaining. Good job!
8:35 - I lol'd quite hard at the unintentionally genius and perfectly timed attack. "His wheels are built for these hits, nothing's working, gotta reach up there somehow and hit the centre"
Finally. Something good to look forward to this weekend. Thanks BattleBots :) I really really really needed this. It's this sport that keeps me going in life.
I love not having commentary. I like Chris and Kenny for the most part, but I have to say, I prefer this. It feels more immersive, like you're there watching it yourself.
@@54raceman have you got more specifics as lots of people have said stuff about BB behind the scenes would have to be somthing major for that to be the case
I much prefer this audio profile, much closer to the raw box audio, (I think I can still hear added sounds in there though, but much lower volume than usual) Edit: that battle with mammoth had a bunch of added sounds though
yeah foley is completely inappropriate for robot combat. use an array of microphones and do some math if you want to duck the crowd or boost the bot sounds.
This was a lot of fun to watch - you should do more things like this (but also stuff that makes it to TV -> events like Robot Wars used to do like Flipper Frenzy) because it really shows what the sport's all about
Wow. Its both very odd and refreshing not to have commentary! I do like the commentary and intros in regular production of the show. All in all a great video!
Nice idea for a format on the unreleased fights! Terribly unfortunate for P1 to fall at the last second there but Lucky was probably on top in what would've been the most difficult fight to judge in BattleBots history... I almost wish it went to the judges just for that. Not so much for the chair fight, surely Big Dill won that!
As the clock was winding down, I was thinking to myself, "how the heck would I score this?!?" 😂 Was almost glad to see Lucky get that "lucky" break so it didn't have to go to the judges. It would have been crazy-close and I assume a split decision.
Valkyrie is an incredibly well-built bot! Her weapon gets all the praise though. Being able to shrug off a MASSIVE hit like that is really what makes her shine.
Chair fight had the most smiles per minute, absolutely hilarious fight and you could tell that Overhaul was trying their best to get their chair back before re-engaging
Not very often you see Bloodsport emitting smoke like that. Also I think they need to go and redesign the self-righting arm, I know it's a piece of tech adapted from Gigabyte but if Riptide hadn't chosen to assist them, they would heave been unable to self correct.
If these were the authentic crowd reactions and not a different version of piped-in crowd reactions compared to the regular fights, I want to go on record saying I prefer these! So much more fun!
Best fights for me: Bloodsport vs Riptide & Rampage vs Mammoth. Back and forth actions and full of destruction. What else could you ask for? Oh, and Riptide really do have the potential to go far in the next seasons to come.
It is a little refreshing to watch this without all the commentary. We all see what's going on. Sometimes they are fun to listen to, but every once in a while, I like this raw ambient sound. We should have more of these available on the RU-vid versions.
That was awesome. Hopefully more things like this can happen in the off season. Let's get battlebots running year round! Between RU-vid events like this, and other shows like bounty hunters or the golden bolt tournament there doesn't even have to be an off season.
14:00 the MOST efficient flamethrower in battlebots had a similar design. Grab, lift above flame (fire/heat goes up) and FRY EM GOOD... Spraying the outside usually does nothing Razor + Flamethrower would be THE BOSS. Pierce and FRY insides up = instant gg
My judge's scorecard: Bloodsport vs Riptide: Riptide 32-13 Deadlift vs Pain Train: Deadlift 33-12 Overhaul vs Big Dill: Overhaul 23-22 Rampage vs Mammoth: Rampage 29-16 Predictions: Won: Riptide (twice), Cobalt, Deadlfit, Lucky, Rampage, Valkyrie Lost: Shrederator and P1 Also, Riptide owes some money, I noticed he used Jackpot to take out part of the sign.
